At the renowned Beverly Hills Hotel, Demi momentarily stopped for a quick photoshoot, causing quite a stir.

She put on a stylish, black tweed jacket with a fitted silhouette, featuring intricate white floral decoration on the front and a sharp, embellished collar.

The beauty slipped into a pair of matching shorts that had a hem that stopped just above her knees.

Moore also donned a stylish pair of black ankle-strap sandals, which had open toes.

Instead of piling on multiple accessories, the actress chose a more understated look, complementing it with a pair of elegant silver floral earrings and a striking ring on her right hand.

She effortlessly held a sleek, light gray Chanel bag containing some essentials, as she attended the glitzy dinner filled with celebrities.

Her long, dark locks were parted in the middle and cascaded down straight past her shoulders. 

Demi’s makeup had an elegant touch for the nighttime, featuring a coat of mascara on her eyelashes and a sparkling eye shadow accentuating her eyes.

A rosy hue was brushed onto her cheekbones to give off a luminous effect, and a shiny tint was applied to her lips as the final detail.

On the eve before the 97th Academy Awards, the Star Ghost beamed a friendly grin, displaying her style as she made her entrance at the event.

As the awards season reaches its peak, Demi has amassed several accolades so far, such as a Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice, and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award, all earned for her portrayal of Elisabeth Sparkle in The Substance.

Her previous director, Roland Joffe, has lately shared insights with Page Six regarding the actress’ journey towards receiving a Best Actress nomination for the upcoming 2025 Oscars.

Previously, he had been the director for Moore in the 1995 film “The Scarlet Letter,” a cinematic rendition of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1850 novel of the same name, which additionally featured Gary Oldman in the cast.

Joffe was reminded that a magazine editor from the East Coast had mentioned to him that professionals within the field expressed disappointment over his decision to assign Demi as the main character in Hester Prynne’s part.

As stated by Roland, the editor had communicated that there were doubts among people about Demi being suitable for the prestigious classic American role at that time. Instead, they proposed some other anticipated candidates for the part.

The director was also told that he would ‘regret’ casting Moore in the historical drama.

In 1991, while carrying her future daughter Scout, the actress appeared nude on the cover of Vanity Fair a few years prior to that time.

Joffe implied that an unnamed editor believed Demi’s revealing Vanity Fair cover photo and provocative acting roles undermined her credibility as a genuine, serious actress.

One year after The Scarlet Letter was released, Moore starred in the 1996 movie Striptease.

Demi reportedly received $12.5 million for her role in the film – but she soon garnered backlash.

At the given time, Joffe pointed out that the sentiment against Demi was a bitter blend of envy towards her physical liberation… and envy stemming from her status as the highest-paid female star.

Previously, Moore too took a moment to acknowledge being among the highest-earning female actors with the income from Striptease.

During an interview with The New York Times’ podcast “The Interview,” the actress expressed that taking on roles like Striptease made her feel as though she had let down women, while playing G.I. Jane left her with a sense of having disappointed men.

She added, “I view it impersonally. I believe anyone initially receiving such equal pay might endure a reduction.

However, as I worked on a movie that focused on the strip club setting and the human body, I felt an intense embarrassment.

Later on, Demi commented, ‘It was just like my Vanity Fair cover shoot while pregnant. At that time, I didn’t grasp why it was such a huge fuss, why women during pregnancy had to be concealed?’

‘Why must we pretend that we didn’t engage in sexual activity? It seems like the concern is that displaying ourselves suggests that we’ve been intimate.’

Joffe declared, “I would stand by Demi until my last breath, and I am deeply disappointed that her talent isn’t recognized more widely. She is of Academy-level caliber as an actress.

The director, known for films like The Killing Fields and The Mission, noted happily, “Working with her has been a sheer pleasure throughout.

This January, Demi was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actress. During her heartfelt acceptance speech, she reminisced about a time when a producer had previously labeled her as a ‘talent comparable to popcorn.’

Andy Vajna, a producer, has been said to have made such a remark, however, according to Joffe, he wasn’t convinced it was actually Vajna who had made the comment, as Vajna sadly passed away in 2019.

Last month, the beauty also received the Critics Choice Award for Best Actress.

On the stage, she mentioned “The Substance” and expressed, “I wouldn’t have thought possible to be here when I embarked on this film’s voyage. This surpasses any dreams I had.

More recently, Demi was awarded the SAG Award for Best Actress, which she described as both extraordinary and significant.

Additionally, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude for persisting throughout these numerous years, to have the chance to strive, sometimes triumph, and other times fall short, yet always persevere.

As time drew near, Moore passionately conveyed, “The girl who doubted her abilities. I’m at a loss for words, so I guess all I can do is express my gratitude.

According to sources, as Demi Moore grew older, it became challenging for her to secure roles in new projects. One source explained this to Page Six by saying, “Demi wasn’t offered many roles for quite some time – a quick glance at her IMDb profile shows this clearly.

Before taking on her role in The Substance, Demi had thought her Hollywood career was ‘complete.’ 

During the SFFILM Awards in San Francisco, held in December, she briefly discussed the subject as she received the Maria Manetti Shrem Award for her acting skills.

The celebrity stated, “My professional journey has been extensive, yet I’ve rarely found myself in discussions that could lead me to participate in award ceremonies and truly appreciate the acclaim for my work. I’m incredibly touched by this.

In early 2022, I encountered a situation at an event where I felt profoundly out of place. I found myself questioning my reason for being there. I yearned to blend into the background, and I struggled to find a way to leave.

She remarked, “After pondering, it struck me, ‘Perhaps my work here is finished. Perhaps I’ve accomplished all that I was meant to.’… Two weeks afterward, a script titled ‘The Substance’ landed on my desk.

Demi confessed she was on the verge of leaving, but expressed her gratitude for deciding otherwise and addressing the audience.
