Demi Moore shares rare photos of Bruce Willis with his granddaughter in sweet 71st birthday tribute

Demi Moore posted some heartwarming photos of Bruce Willis spending time with his granddaughter as a special birthday tribute for his 71st birthday.

As someone who keeps a close eye on style and wellness, I noticed how fantastic Goldie Hawn looked at the recent Vanity Fair Oscars party. It was lovely to see her celebrating her friend’s birthday on Instagram yesterday – a sweet gesture showing how important those connections are!

It comes three years after his family emotionally announced his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.

Bruce Willis was spotted with his almost three-year-old granddaughter, Louetta, who sweetly kissed him on the cheek.

A photo showed Louetta lovingly wrapping her arms around the actor’s neck, who was smiling softly.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, who were married for 13 years and divorced in 2000, are parents to three daughters: Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 32.

In April 2023, their oldest daughter and her then-partner, Derek Richard Thomas, had a baby named Louetta.

The actress from ‘The Substance’ shared a birthday message on social media, writing: ‘All you need is LOVE. Happy birthday, BW! ♥️’

She shared the photo on her Instagram story, writing, ‘Generational birthday love! Happy birthday, BW!’

On Thursday, Rumer Willis shared a video on social media celebrating her father’s birthday, featuring a collection of his most memorable movie roles.

She sent her dad a birthday message: ‘Thinking of you today, and picturing you dancing and being your wonderful self. I love you!’

After his divorce from Naomi Watts, actor Bruce Willis married Emma Heming in 2009. They have two daughters together: Mabel, age 13, and Evelyn, age 11.

She posted a picture of Willis smiling and enjoying a relaxing trip by the water.

She wrote, ‘Today is Bruce’s birthday.’ She also shared that dealing with his frontotemporal dementia (FTD) has helped her understand the challenges many families experience.

Heming shared that her father’s struggle with dementia motivated her to create The Emma & Bruce Willis Fund. The fund aims to increase understanding of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), fund important research, and support those who dedicate themselves to caring for others with the condition.

As someone who’s spent years observing what truly makes a difference, I always say there are so many ways to help. Whether it’s donating to a relevant fund, supporting an organization dedicated to this cause, or just reaching out to a caregiver with a simple ‘how are you?’ – those small gestures of kindness can be incredibly powerful. Honestly, it’s often the little things that mean the most.

Last week, Heming officially launched the charity for dementia research and caregiver support.

According to People magazine, she announced the news while being honored with the Susan Newhouse & Si Newhouse Award of Hope at The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration’s Hope Rising Benefit in New York City.

The media personality shared with the audience that learning about frontotemporal dementia has given them a new understanding of the challenges many families go through when a loved one is affected by the condition.

I strongly believe we need to fund research and also support the everyday heroes – the caregivers – who do so much for others.

Heming expressed her hope that the charity will increase awareness and understanding of frontotemporal dementia, and provide support to families affected by the condition, helping them feel less isolated.

Bruce was a naturally kind and giving person, and I’m sure he’d be happy to know this work is supporting families dealing with this illness.

Bruce Willis stopped acting in 2022 after being diagnosed with a language disorder called aphasia. His family later shared in 2023 that his condition had worsened and he was now living with frontotemporal dementia, a type of dementia affecting the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

Last August, it became known that the Pulp Fiction actor had moved to a nearby home where he receives around-the-clock care.

In a January interview on the Conversations With Cam podcast, Heming revealed that she frequently visits her husband.

She and their kids regularly share dinner with the actor, and she frequently has breakfast with him as well.

‘We are over there all the time. It is our second home, and it’s a place where we make memories.’

She explained that their house fully supports Bruce around the clock, and their other home provides everything their children need, which has been a great arrangement for the family.

I was really shocked to hear Heming say that the actor apparently doesn’t realize he has dementia. It’s just heartbreaking to think about, and it explains so much about his recent behavior. It’s a terrible situation for everyone involved.

Bruce never realized he was sick. In a way, that’s both good and bad. I’m glad he never figured it out.

‘I’m really happy that he doesn’t know about it.’

Heming explained that anosognosia occurs when the brain struggles to recognize something is wrong, leading people with the condition to believe their altered state is simply how things are.

People often assume someone avoiding the doctor is simply in denial, repeating things like “I’m fine.” However, what’s actually happening in these cases can be anosognosia – a lack of awareness of their own illness.

‘It’s not denial. It’s just that their brain is changing. This is a part of the disease.’
