Demi Moore Foresees Mikey Madison’s Oscar Win: Her Surprising Calmness Revealed

Demi Moore was nominated for Best Actress for her outstanding performance in “The Substance,” a critically acclaimed film of 2024. Joining her in the nominations were Fernanda Torres, Cynthia Erivo, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Mikey Madison. Prior to the Academy Awards announcement, there was much speculation about who might win, as public sentiment suggested any of these actresses could take home the award. However, during the ceremony, Moore confided to someone nearby that she had figured out the winner before it was officially announced.

I leant towards my supervisor and quietly shared, ‘It seems like it’s going to be Mikey.’ For some reason, I just had a feeling about it, and I was right.

On occasion, an intuitive hunch can be remarkably powerful, and it turns out that the actress from “Ghost” was indeed right in this particular case. While you might think she felt a bit down after reaching this conclusion, the sensation the renowned star subsequently expresses is actually quite the opposite: she feels invigorated or uplifted.

I was completely composed and serene, devoid of any distress or unease. I didn’t experience those feelings. Instead, I placed my faith in the process, feeling confident that everything will unfold as it should.

Initially, it was planned to highlight aspects that most people would rather not notice, but Demi Moore agreed to participate in those controversial scenes that eventually went viral.

In my opinion, both Mikey Madison and Demi Moore were strong contenders for the award. Madison’s exceptional portrayal in “Anora” earned her numerous honors such as a British Academy Film Award and an Independent Spirit. Similarly, Madison’s role as Anora Mikheeva, a stripper, was widely praised, while Demi Moore garnered acclaim for her performance as Elisabeth Sparkle, an aging actress and fitness instructor in “The Substance.” Notably, Moore collected awards such as the Golden Globe, SAG Award, Critics’ Choice Award, and more. In essence, either of these outstanding actresses could have taken home the top prize.

After the Oscars, a portion of fans criticized Mike Madison’s win, with many arguing that the A Few Good Man star should’ve won. Opinions varied on that matter but, all in all, the development doesn’t seem to have fazed Moore herself. That was evidenced by the sweet post shared on Instagram shortly after the ceremony, in which she congratulated Madison. Awards season also served as a period of professional and personal empowerment for Moore, given The Substance came along at a time when she considered retiring from acting.

It wouldn’t be truthful for me to say I wasn’t disappointed Demi Moore didn’t win the Best Actress award at the Oscars, but I must admit, she handled her loss with dignity and graciously recognized the talents of another actress. Her class and humility are just more reasons why Demi Moore continues to be admired and respected in Hollywood.
