Delta: Ninja Thief Analysis – Should You Pull?

Ninja (boob) Flash!!!

Overview

  • B2 Defender 40s MG that mostly support allies
  • Works as either a great taunt tank or competent healer for the team, depending if there’s another Defender unit on the team or not.
  • Being able to heal Crown and synergizing with her allows Maid Mast or Helm (F) to join other teams, increasing the viability of other teams in raid content.
  • Even without Crown, Delta can be a workable off-burst debuffer and taunt tank/healer for other teams.
  • Since her heal scales poorly off ATK, and defenders have low base ATK, she is best ran as the only Defender in campaign if not paired with Crown, as her heal is non-existant at a deficit.
  • Her burst is really middling, so it’s recommended to pair her up with a second B2 20s unit, if you can help it. The most important parts of her kit work off-burst anyway!!
  • Anniversary is around the corner… please don’t be too lured in by her jiggles.

Should You Pull?

I wouldn’t recommend trying to get Delta: Ninja Thief right away, even if she were great—and she isn’t. It’s best to wait and see what the next anniversary units are like before considering her. Anniversary units are usually much stronger and more worth the effort, so they should be a higher priority.

Delta: Ninja Thief shows promise, particularly in raids if you already have the Crown unit. However, she won’t be able to carry a raid on her own, and her release timing is unfortunate, coming right after another character banner. Currently, Delta is considered a solid alternative, but not a significant improvement over existing options. She isn’t strong enough to prioritize summoning for over anniversary characters, but she’s still helpful for completing regular campaign missions and participating in raids.

Delta isn’t currently a top-tier unit, but she could become more useful with future updates. For now, her best role is supporting Crown and allowing other strong units like Maid Mast/Helm (F) to contribute to more raid teams or act as a durable tank in the campaign, especially when you’re at a disadvantage. While this is a decent reason to consider getting her, I strongly recommend waiting, as the Anniversary event with potentially better units is happening right after her banner. It’s best to save your resources and add her to your wishlist instead.

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Delta, also known as Ninja Thief, is a Water unit from the Defender class, appearing in the 40s. She’s primarily a support character, able to function in one of two ways: if you don’t have other Defenders on your team, she can act as a ‘tank’ drawing enemy fire with a taunt. If you do have another Defender, she shifts into a healing role. While Delta’s stats aren’t particularly high, her abilities activate quickly, which is a significant benefit.

While she technically could work with another B2 unit from the 40s, it’s generally better not to. Delta’s overall damage output isn’t very strong compared to the currently popular, boosted B2 units.

Delta is most useful if you want to improve your raid teams, specifically by adding her to Crown teams, or if you think her strong ability to draw enemy fire will help in the campaign. However, right now she’s just a slightly different version of existing characters, and with the anniversary event coming up soon, it’s probably not worth spending resources to get her.

Pull at your own discretion!!

Holy, three skill cards.

Skill 1: Ninjutsu Acid Bomb

This ability triggers when Full Burst is activated, impacting all enemies. It applies the Ninjutsu Acid Bomb effect, increasing damage taken by affected enemies by 12% for 15 seconds.

Activates when using Burst Skill. Affects self.
ATK ▲15.04% for 10 sec.

This skill triggers when you use your Burst Skill. It impacts enemies closest to where you’re aiming.
Ninjutsu Hyper Acid Bomb: Increases damage taken by enemies by 8% for 10 seconds.

When Delta is on the team and Full Burst is activated, she applies a lasting debuff to all enemies that makes them take increased damage. This is her most valuable way to boost her allies’ damage, and importantly, it happens even if she doesn’t use her own special ability.

Her Burst ability gives her a small attack boost and makes enemies near her crosshair take more damage. While it doesn’t significantly increase her own damage output – she’s a Defender focused on support, not direct attack – it does amplify the healing power of her Skill 2.

Although Delta’s burst can slightly increase damage taken, many other characters who boost damage (like Crown, Bunny Ade, Grave, and Mari) actually contribute more overall DPS for the team. Because of this, using Delta’s burst to help allies feels less effective – especially when using strong support characters or duos, as Delta’s burst isn’t useful in those setups.

Skill 2: Ninjutsu Camouflage

This ability triggers at the beginning of a fight. Its effects change depending on how your team is positioned, and only one effect will activate based on your current formation.

This ability affects only the caster if there are no other Defenders in the squad. It has two effects: First, it creates a Shield for 10 seconds equal to 12.25% of the caster’s maximum health. Second, it taunts all enemies, constantly attracting their attention.

This ability works differently if you have another Defender teammate in your group. It has two effects:

Effect 1: Camouflage – For 10 seconds, prevents enemies from directly targeting you with single attacks. This effect ends if you take any damage.

Effect 2: Injection – Continuously restores 11.22% of the damage you deal as health.

This ability triggers after landing 200 normal attacks. While attracting enemies, it creates a shield that absorbs damage equal to 12.25% of your maximum health, lasting for 10 seconds.

While under the effects of Ninjutsu Injection, you are affected every 4 seconds. The Ninjutsu IFAK effect lasts for 4 seconds. During this time, it builds up healing power, and when the duration ends, all allies are healed for the total amount accumulated. The maximum healing potential is 165.28% of your final Attack stat. Once the effect expires, all allies receive the accumulated healing.

It might seem complicated, but this is actually pretty straightforward. Delta is a Defender, and her Skill 2 checks if there’s another Defender on your team. This even includes units that can also deal a lot of damage, like 2B, Cinderella, and Ice Rose, because they still function as Defenders.

If Delta is the sole Defender on the team, she’ll continuously taunt enemies until defeated, gaining a shield based on her maximum health. She refreshes this shield with a new, fully restored one every time she fires 200 bullets – roughly every 3.33 seconds with a standard machine gun at 60 frames per second. This shield can be refreshed endlessly, making Delta excellent at drawing enemy fire during campaigns, and is the best way to utilize her if you don’t have the Crown.

If another Defender is already on the team, Delta will heal herself whenever she deals damage. She’ll also provide a team-wide heal every 4 seconds, based on her total attack power. This team heal happens consistently, even if the full healing amount isn’t used. However, because Defenders generally have low attack power, this healing ability won’t be very effective if Delta is behind in resources during a campaign.

Delta is a strong support character for raid teams, mainly because her healing consistently triggers a beneficial effect from Crown’s skill. This reliable healing makes her a popular and valuable addition to raid groups.

Applying a lasting debuff to bosses during moments between main attacks, combined with a team-wide damage boost, significantly increases a team’s overall damage output. This allows strategies like using Maid Mast or HelmF to be much more effective.

Burst: Secret Technique: Ninja Overdrive

Cooldown: 40s

Affects all allies.
Distributed Damage ▲ 20% for 10 sec.
ATK ▲ 15% of caster ATK for 10 sec.

Affects all enemies.
Deals 170% of final ATK as distributed damage.

Affects self while in Attract status.
Next shield’s HP ▲ 20.13% for 10 sec.

Being infected with Ninjutsu has a negative effect on the user. It also allows for a maximum increase of 20.13% to Ninjutsu IFAK effectiveness for 10 seconds.

Okay, so I’ve been testing Delta’s Burst, and honestly, it’s a little underwhelming. It gives your team a damage buff, but the attack boost it gives is tiny, and it’s based on how much attack a Defender has, which makes it even smaller. Plus, the damage Delta herself does with the Burst – 170% of her attack – is seriously low. I actually wondered if it was a mistake! Machine Guns are pumping out that much damage consistently every half-second, so it just feels… weak.

Even with the benefits Delta gets from using her Burst, it’s often better to use other top-tier B2 characters instead. Their Bursts offer more impactful team-wide buffs, particularly because Delta already provides a significant portion of her damage boost to allies even without using her Burst.

Delta’s damage buff from her ultimate ability isn’t as strong as similar buffs from other characters, and its long 40-second cooldown means she struggles to perform effectively without help from her team.

Delta’s ultimate ability mainly strengthens her second skill, making it more effective. Currently, there’s not much benefit to using her ultimate, particularly in raids, except possibly during specific campaign scenarios where it could help her shield absorb more damage.

Campaign

Ninja Delta is a strong choice for campaign teams, especially if they don’t have Crown. She’s designed to draw enemy attacks, and because she consistently creates a shield for herself, she can absorb a lot of damage. Unlike some other Defenders like Tia, Delta doesn’t get taken out of the fight easily thanks to her frequent shielding.

Similar to Tia, Delta’s death during a campaign isn’t a big problem because she’s meant to be used briefly. The team will only lose a small, ongoing debuff that slightly increases damage enemies deal, which isn’t a significant loss.

In Campaign mode, debuffs that increase damage taken aren’t as helpful as they are in boss fights. This is because these debuffs usually need to be reapplied with each new group of enemies, after the skill that applies them is used again. While this makes Delta less effective for boosting damage output, it doesn’t impact its ability to hold enemy attention in Campaign.

Delta is best used as the sole Defender on your team, especially in campaign mode, because her healing isn’t very strong unless paired with Crown. Without Crown, her healing is limited, and it becomes even less effective as your Nikkes fall behind in power during campaign stages. Her healing primarily shines when keeping Crown alive, which triggers Delta’s skill. Otherwise, her impact quickly diminishes as Nikkes become weaker.

Arena

I’m a little worried about Delta. While her constant attacking style could be useful, I don’t see her doing amazingly well in the Arena right now. The way the Arena runs – at only 30 frames per second and without the fire rate fix – means it takes her around 6.66 seconds to get her shield up. Plus, shields just aren’t as strong in PvP, and those machine gun-style units she uses tend to just give the enemy a ton of burst damage, which isn’t ideal.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Delta shows promise in challenging raids and boss battles. While she works exceptionally well with the Crown character, she can also effectively team up with other powerful solo support characters like Grave and Bunny Ade. Her ability to reduce damage taken complements their buffs, and her capacity to absorb all single-target boss damage can be a significant advantage.

It’s important to remember that raid bosses often use attacks that hit multiple targets, and Delta isn’t very effective against those. However, if Delta is the only Defender on a raid team, the team won’t have trouble dealing with attacks that target a single player.

Delta’s biggest strength in raids comes from combining her with Crown. Because Crown is a Defender, Delta’s skill 2 heals him, which constantly triggers Crown’s skill 2, making its effects almost continuous. Unlike Helm and Naga, the benefits from both Crown and Delta’s abilities are reliable and consistently useful – they don’t weaken over time or depend on specific situations.

Although Delta might slightly lower overall damage compared to using Maid Mast on your current team, this frees up Maid Mast to join a different team and potentially increase their damage even more. Ultimately, adding Delta gives you greater flexibility when building your teams.

Strengths

  • Powerful taunt tank for campaign when set as the solo Defender, with constant self-shielding.
  • Able to proc Crown’s S2, making her a partner for Crown in raids, freeing up HelmF and Maid Mast to join other teams if needed.
  • Mostly functions off-burst, works excellent with any solo B2, Crown being the notable standout.
  • Low skill investment unit that works well at a high level.
  • Sacrificial unit whose death in normal maps barely punishes your team, when set as the solo Defender.
  • ZAMN! So stacked…

Weaknesses

  • Pathetic burst, don’t use it if you can help it.
  • 40s B2 means she can’t be used by herself, another B2 is required.
  • Low DPS potential, not sure why they tried to give her DPS values on burst, so don’t bother.
  • Low buff and debuff values, her main power comes from synergizing with other, better buffers as an off-burst unit.
  • The heal scaling off of ATK means its value will fall off really fast in campaign.
  • Damage Taken is inherently weak in normal campaign maps, as debuffs don’t apply to the new wave of enemies until the next cast.

Doll Priority

Okay, so normally I don’t focus on getting good Support dolls for Defenders, especially ones like Delta who aren’t about dealing damage and whose buffs don’t really get better over time. But if you’re really trying to push through the campaign, that changes! Delta has this amazing ability where she taunts all enemies constantly as long as she’s your only Defender. Because of that, stacking Damage Taken reduction and extra Cover HP from an SR doll makes a HUGE difference for keeping her alive and letting her do her job. It’s a total game changer!

Depending on your plans with Delta, Doll Priority should be either Low to Medium-High.

S1 > S2Skill 1 is where a lot of her value comes from as a unit. Damage Taken debuff that activates whether she uses Burst or not is very nice.

Skill 2 improves her self-durability/heal for the team. If using her in a serious campaign setting, you can level it up more for stronger shields.

You should never use her Burst for the foreseeable future. Its gains and values are just so low. The only reason Recommended is set to 4 is because the cost of leveling it to 4 is inconsequential.
