Delta Goodrem reveals the one thing she refused to do at her lavish Maltese wedding to Matthew Copley

Delta Goodrem has candidly revealed the one thing she refused to do on her wedding day.

In June, the Australian singer had a lavish wedding with Matthew Copley in Malta, leaving no detail untouched.

However, the one thing that wasn’t on the cards was a song by the Born To Try hitmaker.     

‘I had no intention of singing,’ she told Herald Sun when it came to her big day. 

Performing and sharing our passion with audiences is incredibly rewarding, so we didn’t feel it was necessary to include a performance at our wedding.

The 41-year-old explained that while he often asks loved ones to attend his performances, he doesn’t expect them to do the same for his wedding.

Delta Goodrem gave Vogue Australia an exclusive preview of her opulent wedding in July, with photos taken by Matt Porteous and Becky Lee Brun.

The singer got married at the beautiful St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina, and the celebration continued at the stunning Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar.

Delta shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, celebrating her marriage in June 2025. She described the experience as even more wonderful than she and her husband had imagined.

She continued, sharing that they got married in Malta, describing it as a dream wedding filled with the love and support of everyone around them.

We’ll always cherish the memories from that moment – the love, the laughter, even the happy tears, and dancing until sunrise.

Delta Goodrem’s first outfit was a wedding dress with an off-the-shoulder design and a revealing sweetheart neckline, created by South Australian designer Paul Vasileff.

The bride wore a beautiful French tulle gown with intricate lattice work and a long, flowing train measuring two and a half metres. She completed the ensemble with diamond jewelry from ANTON Jewellery.

Delta explained that she collaborated with the designer for three months to make a dress that felt deeply meaningful and unique to her.

Delta shared with Vogue that she and Paul clicked right away when she got engaged and began collaborating on the dress immediately.

The dress, a labor of love taking approximately 500 hours to create, featured sweet details celebrating the couple’s relationship, like their wedding date, a pair of swans, and delicate cherub embroidery.

Delta’s makeup was done by Noni Smith and her hair was styled by Michael Brennan.

Her groom meanwhile was dressed in ‘head-to-toe’ Tom Ford.

The wedding, carefully planned by Sarah Young Luxury Events and Weddings in collaboration with Wonder Event, was a complete success.
