Delta Goodrem hits back after US actor Marlon Wayans ‘completely humiliated’ her at Beyoncé concert

Delta Goodrem recently brought up the controversial incident known as the ‘concert scandal’, during which she faced severe criticism for her dance skills.

Back in 2014, I found myself, at the grand age of 52, nestled beside the enchanting singer known for “Born to Try,” who was a vibrant 40. At a Beyoncé concert in Los Angeles, we both shared an unforgettable moment, which I immortalized by capturing her dance moves and posting it on social media.

At the Jay and Bay concert, the woman dancing beside me had an uncoordinated rhythm. This lady was moving to the beat of AC/DC’s music. He expressed this in his post back then.

Delta has finally spoken up about the unexpected event and disclosed that, although it initially felt embarrassing, she eventually viewed the situation as incredibly ‘freeing’ for an astonishingly unexpected cause.

In her conversation with Daily Mail’s The Life of Bryony podcast, Delta shared that she had been somewhat reserved about dancing in the past. However, when the opportunity presented itself, it felt liberating to her… Somebody seems determined to convince her that she can’t dance.

As a result of the Scary Movie actor publicly embarrassing her, Delta gained a newfound lack of fear towards people’s criticisms.

She expressed that she’s ready to dance on the street or right where we are. She’s eager to demonstrate her dance skills for everyone. There’s nothing holding her back when it comes to dancing,” she stated.

Since I was utterly embarrassed before. But now, with your help, I’m all set to perform a full dance routine for my performances – let’s get moving!

Back in August 2014, Marlon and Delta found themselves joining forces because they had the chance to enjoy Jay Z and Beyoncé’s On The Run concert in Los Angeles.

Marlon had a surprised look on his face as he observed the performer from Innocent Eyes dancing rhythmically to the tune.

Delta appeared cheerful, waving her arms above her head without seeming to notice as the comedian snapped a photo.

At the event held in the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, she was there alongside her dear friend, Renee Bargh. Meanwhile, the White Girls actor opted for a family evening, treating his son, Amai, to his inaugural concert.

Delta too posted a picture from the occasion, adding a photo of Jay Z and Beyoncé performing live while expressing her excitement about the spectacular performance.

Following Marlon’s post of the photo, supporters of the singer swiftly came to her aid. One fan commented, “The woman standing beside you is a renowned Australian singer.

Nonetheless, some people joined in the laughter – one Instagram user humorously commenting, “I’ve witnessed her dance on The Voice. It’s atrocious.”

Yet, others chuckled along – an Instagrammer quipping, “I’ve seen her dance on The Voice. It was terrible.”

Delta is one of Australia’s most decorated female singer-songwriters.

At just 15, the previous bandmate of Brian McFadden from Westlife, initially inked her initial recording agreement, while her 2003 debut album titled ‘Innocent Eyes’ held the top spot on the Australian charts for a remarkable 29 consecutive weeks.

In the year 2021, her latest album titled “Bridge Over Troubled Dreams” climbed to the top of the Australian charts.
