Delta Goodrem Forced to Cancel Las Vegas NRL Gig Due to Heartbreaking Reason

Delta Goodrem experienced deep disappointment when she was compelled to withdraw from an eagerly awaited U.S. performance at the very last moment.

40-year-old musician famous for “Born To Try” was considering performing at the highly anticipated opening game of the rugby league season in Las Vegas this weekend, as per talks with the NRL.

Unfortunately, given the continuing effects of the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires, I must share that the show has been terminated, as reported by The Sydney Morning Herald.

In January, Delta had to leave her home in Los Angeles due to fires, and since then, she’s been staying in her homeland of Australia as a result of those destructive blazes.

According to the report, it remains uncertain whether Goodrem will attend the event alongside the singer, as both parties have found it challenging to confirm their schedules.

With Goodrem unable to attend, it’s now the Stafford Brothers and Conrad Sewell who will be performing at the start of the season at Allegiant Stadium, hailing from Los Angeles as fellow Aussies.

They will also be joined by New Zealand rapper Savage.

2025’s opening game will pit the Canberra Raiders against the New Zealand Warriors, followed by a confrontation between the Penrith Panthers and Cronulla Sharks in the subsequent match.

Delta, like countless other Los Angeles residents, had to leave their home during January due to the fierce wildfires, choosing safety over residence.

She shared on various social platforms about the wellbeing of herself and her partner, Matthew Copley, who divide their time between Sydney and Los Angeles.

Posting a picture of the flames consuming the Hollywood Hills, the singer announced that they along with their companion needed to temporarily leave their residence in the Angel City due to an evacuation order.

She labeled this stunning city as a second home, stating that it’s always felt like a comforting refuge for her, as depicted in the poignant picture.

‘My heart is broken and the feeling in the smoke-filled air is devastating. Praying for everyone.’

On the following slide, she penned: ‘I find it challenging to begin finding the right words to adequately convey the feelings that so many are experiencing at this moment.’

She expressed her heartfelt thanks for the many messages of encouragement you’ve sent, as they’ve been helping us stay connected during this difficult time. Unfortunately, we needed to leave our place on a temporary basis, but we’re doing well.

We’re all traveling together, and it’s heart-wrenching to witness this stunning city in such a tragic state.

It remains uncertain whether Delta and Matthew were able to go back to their house after the fire, or the exact distance of their property from the surrounding blazes.

Over 100,000 Los Angeles residents had to evacuate their homes, and it was reported that many dozen lives were lost due to the wildfires, starting with the Palisades Fire.

From the heart of an ardent admirer, on the chilly morn of January 7th, the stage was set for a fiery spectacle across Southern California. The relentless gusts and the absence of our usual drizzle conspired to orchestrate a scenario ripe for a wildfire’s fury.

The Eaton Fire burned over 14,000 acres while the Palisades Fire scorched nearly 24,000 acres.

Delta has recently disclosed the piece of wisdom she’d pass on to herself at the beginning of her career, having celebrated her 40th birthday in November.

‘If I could go

She added: ‘I’m the best version of an artist I’ve ever been. It’s my best era yet.’
