Delta Force: Hawk Ops rebranded to Delta Force

As a longtime fan of the Delta Force franchise, I am thrilled to see this iconic series making a comeback with a new name and fresh look. The decision to rebrand from Delta Force: Hawk Ops to simply Delta Force aligns perfectly with the team’s vision of bridging the gap between old and new players while honoring the legacy of the series. I remember playing the original 1998 release, and it feels like coming home again with this spiritual successor in the works.

The game known as “Delta Force: Hawk Ops” has revealed plans to be renamed to just “Delta Force”. This update was disclosed during its presentation at the “gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live” event on August 21, 2024.

The reason for the name change from Delta Force: Hawk Ops to something else was revealed in order to match the team’s goal of developing a Delta Force game that appeals to both long-time franchise fans and new players. Additionally, the Game Director aims to create this game as an experience that upholds the legacy of the series.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement when I hear that the creators are renaming their upcoming game to Delta Force. Given the profound impact the original 1998 Delta Force release had on the gaming world, it makes perfect sense for them to consider this title a spiritual successor. Dropping the “Hawk Ops” name and returning to the iconic Delta Force moniker seems like a smart move, as it taps into the popularity and recognition that comes with such an established franchise. This move will undoubtedly excite those of us who have fond memories of playing the earlier games in the series.

Prior to the rebranding, not only was the name modified, but also the design of the logo underwent a change. If you take a closer look, you’ll notice that the placement of the lightning bolt has been adjusted in the new logo compared to the previous one. In the original logo, the second image exhibited the lightning bolt slightly displaced within the triangle, whereas in the updated design, the lightning bolt is centered perfectly within the triangle.

Delta Force is a tactical shooter game across various platforms, developed by TiMi Studios. The news of its development went global on August 19, 2023. In the same year, July saw the game’s unveiling in the Chinese market under the name Operation Delta. By October 2023, plans for global playtesting were revealed, and earlier this year, there was an offline event where players could try the game hands-on.

Regarding the present stage of the game, it’s planned to debut on PC during the last quarter of 2024. Additionally, it’s scheduled for a release in China this coming September 2024. This means we’ll have a good sense of the game before its anticipated global launch.
