Once again, Team Go Rocket has returned for a Pokemon GO conquest, this time demanding trainers to rescue Shadow Giratina from the clutches of Giovanni.
An acquisition in Pokémon GO typically stirs things up, causing alterations to the schedules of Arlo, Cliff, Sierra, Giovanni, and all Team GO Rocket Grunts, as well as introducing fresh Shadow Pokémon into the game.
This time around, an exceptional addition is being introduced to the game. For the very first time, Shadow Kyogre will be appearing in Raids, and if you’re lucky, you might even encounter its shiny form!
Pokémon GO Delightful Days: Taken over
The upcoming Team GO Rocket takeover in Pokémon GO will occur from Monday, August 11 (midnight) up until Sunday, August 17, 2025 (eleven fifty-nine p.m.), as per your local timezone.
The event will have the following bonuses:
- Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
- Pokémon caught via one-star and three-star Shadow Raids during the event will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense, and HP.
- For the first time in Pokémon GO, you might even hatch Shiny Salandit—if you’re lucky!
Save Shadow Giratina and Raid for Shadow Kyogre in Pokémon GO
Starting the event, you’ll find an opportunity to capture Shadow Giratina by employing a Super Rocket Radar in combat against Giovanni. Shadow Giratina is an excellent choice for raids, making it a potent reinforcement for your game collection.
Starting this coming Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 10:00 p.m., local time, Shadow Kyogre will appear in five-star Raid Battles. Additionally, during this period, you’ll receive an extra free Raid Pass every day.
