Delighted Helen Flanagan declares she’s back to her ‘normal self’ and ‘living in the Starbucks drive-thru’ after return of her driving licence following six month ban

After getting her driver’s license back following a six-month suspension, Helen Flanagan stated that she feels like her usual self again and is now regularly visiting the Starbucks drive-thru.

In January, the former Coronation Street actress (age 34) informed the court that her ex-boyfriend, Robbie Talbot, was operating her £66,000 Audi Q7 on both occasions when it was pulled over for speeding.

Despite asserting that she faced financial hardships and couldn’t afford taxis for her kids’ school rides, she was still prohibited from using the roads for a period of six months.

Last Monday, I hopped back into the driver’s seat of my luxurious automobile, and let me tell you, it felt absolutely fantastic! I couldn’t resist sharing the news with my followers on Instagram Stories.

Overflowing with joy, she exclaimed, “I’m thrilled to regain my driver’s license! It took me about ten minutes to feel strange behind the wheel again, but now I can’t help but adore it!

I’ve returned to my usual self. Being back at the Trafford Centre and residing near the Starbucks drive-thru again makes me feel like I’m truly myself once more.

Last month, Helen expressed her frustration in a disorganized social media post about how difficult it has been for her not having a car, as she’s been unable to complete necessary tasks like running errands or purchasing essential items because of her remote location.

Via her Instagram Stories, she clarified that due to her ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), she had inadvertently muddled the necessary documents for reapplying for her license, thereby postponing the procedure even more.

It’s incredibly frustrating for me to explain that without my driver’s license, living in such a remote location makes getting around extremely challenging, since I don’t currently own a car.

It’s really inconvenient; for instance, we’ve run out of toilet paper at the moment, and I can’t step out to buy some, so my friend has to deliver it to me instead.

In court, Helen stated that her secluded countryside residence is so far removed that it takes a 10-minute drive just to reach the grocery store for necessities like bread and milk. She admitted that living in such a remote area would pose significant difficulties without a vehicle.

The actress residing in the vicinity of Bolton, within Greater Manchester, disclosed that she made approximately £70,000 during the past year. However, she emphasized that her earnings are subject to fluctuation and revealed that she couldn’t spare the £10 needed for a taxi ride to drive her son to nursery.

Stephen Kirk, the prosecutor, explained that Helen, who had six previous points for speeding violations, neglected to disclose the driver of the car when it was clocked speeding on Merseyside last June. Specifically, the vehicle was traveling at 42 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone and 51 mph in a 40 mph area.

The magistrates added six points to her tally for each offense, bringing her grand total to 18 points. This significantly surpasses the typical 12-point limit at which magistrates usually impose a driving ban, unless there are extraordinary circumstances that warrant an exception.

In an attempt to retain her license, Helen expressed her regret by saying, “I deeply apologize. In a moment of foolishness, I mistakenly believed it was permissible for my partner to state that he was driving instead of me.

Helen explained to the court that she devotes all her time to taking care of her kids, Matilda (9 years old), Delilah (6 years old), and Charlie (3 years old). She uses a vehicle to transport them to their respective nursery, school, and extracurricular activities.

She explained that her role primarily is as a stay-at-home mom since their father works outside the home. Currently, it’s challenging for her to generate income due to this situation, as she makes money through social media, but the earnings can be inconsistent.

She mentioned, “It may seem as if I could effortlessly pay for a chauffeur, but that’s actually quite misleading.

‘I’ve got enough money in my account to pay off my tax and my VAT and basically that’s about it.’

In response to being asked by solicitor Patrick Boyers about how she transports her son Charlie to nursery without a car, she explained that they use Uber (a taxi service), but it is quite costly. Currently, they are facing financial difficulties.

In response to the clerk’s question about the cost, she shared that she took an Uber ride from her home to the nursery earlier in the day, and it had cost her £10 on that occasion.

She additionally stated that her son doesn’t fare as well in a taxi, and instead thrives more securely when buckled up in a car.
