Denise Gough, who played Dedra Meero in *Andor*, recently shared what happens to her character after she’s imprisoned at the end of Season 2. Gough portrayed Dedra as a dedicated ISB agent who navigated the complex and often ruthless bureaucracy of the Empire for two seasons. Despite her efforts, all of Dedra’s work ultimately didn’t matter, and she was imprisoned for being aware of the Empire’s dangerous schemes.
At a Starfury Convention in the U.K., *Andor* actors Denise Gough and Diego Luna discussed what they believe happened to Dedra Meero after the show’s finale.
Honestly, it’s a bit scary how quickly I think Dedra would adjust to being in prison. Luna made a funny comment – she said Dedra would probably *like* the food tubes they have in every cell, you know, those things that give you bland, tasteless meals. It just shows how easily Dedra could settle into that environment, and it’s unsettling.
Fiona Shaw, who plays Dedra in *Andor*, suggests her character won’t be troubled by her past actions. She believes Dedra will simply adapt to her new circumstances and be okay with where she is now.
We don’t know if Gough’s character from *Andor* will appear in future stories, but it’s possible she was still in prison during the time of the original *Star Wars* trilogy.
Season 2 of *Andor* is now available on Disney+. This season continues the story of Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, and shows how he becomes a full member of the Rebellion. The series covers the five years before his death, an event depicted in *Star Wars: Rogue One*, as he works to expose the plans for the Death Star.
I’m really excited about this new space-based show! It’s got a fantastic cast – Luna and Gough are leading the way, and they’re joined by Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Kyle Stoller, and the always-amazing Stellan Skarsgård. It’s shaping up to be something special!
What Happened to Dedra After Andor Season 2?
Currently, according to what viewers have seen, Denise Gough’s character, Dedra Meero, remains imprisoned within the Star Wars story.
The final scene featuring the character shows her adjusting to her new environment – a stark, white jail cell similar to the ones seen in the popular Narkina-5 storyline from the first season of the Star Wars series Andor.
She embodies a common problem within the Empire: no matter how diligently someone follows the rules, the system doesn’t care about individuals and will discard them once they’re no longer useful.
Dedra could spend years in the Imperial jail, potentially dying from the harsh conditions. Alternatively, she might survive the Rebellion’s downfall and be released, or she could face trial as a war criminal after the Empire falls in *Return of the Jedi*.
Despite still being credited as part of the team, it’s doubtful Dedra will appear in any future Star Wars films or shows.
There won’t be a third season of *Andor*. The character Dedra was created to represent the many ordinary people who keep a powerful, oppressive system like the Empire running, so she probably won’t have a major storyline or a chance to redeem herself.
