Death Stranding: Director's Cut Has Surprise-Launched For Xbox Series X|S

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Death Stranding: Director’s Cut has been a long-awaited addition to my gaming library. Having missed out on this unique experience during its initial release, I am thrilled to finally embark on this post-apocalyptic journey on my Xbox Series X|S.

In August 2022, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut was made available on PC Game Pass. Surprisingly, it has just been released today for Xbox Series X|S. This comes five years after the game initially debuted on PS4, and now, it’s also playable on Xbox. To celebrate its arrival, the game is currently offering a 50% discount for a limited time.

Hideo Kojima, the director, happily shares that Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is coming to Xbox gamers! We appreciate your loyalty and patience, Xbox community members. As we work to bring more and more players together worldwide, keep an eye out for future updates.

Could it be that Kojima hinted in his statement that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach might eventually become available on Xbox platforms? While it seems unlikely, we can’t completely dismiss the possibility. In Death Stranding, you take on the role of Sam Porter Bridges, portrayed by Norman Reedus, as you navigate the United Cities of America, delivering cargo to different destinations.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that the game includes acting heavyweights like Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, and Lindsay Wagner. The Director’s Cut offers an enhanced experience with the introduction of the Ruined Factory location, upgraded delivery tools, intensified melee combat, and a brand-new Maser Gun weapon. Right now, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is available on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, retailing for $39.99/£34.99 – and guess what? It’s currently offering a 50% discount!
