Death in Paradise’s new female-led spin-off gets first-look trailer
As a seasoned gamer who has navigated through countless virtual worlds and investigations, I must admit that the trailer for “Return to Paradise” has piqued my interest. Having grown up on shows like “Home and Away,” the Australian setting feels comfortingly familiar yet intriguing with its new cast of characters.
The debut trailer for the fresh, female-centric spin-off of “Death in Paradise” titled “Return to Paradise” has been unveiled.
In the newest extension of the “Death in Paradise” world, the story shifts to Australia, introducing a fresh ensemble of characters for viewers to follow.
In the leading role for the series, we have Anna Samson from “Home and Away,” who will be accompanied by co-star Tai Hara, who portrays her former fiancé Glenn.
Additionally, Ted Lasso’s cast members – Lloyd Griffith, Catherine McClements, Celia Ireland, Andrea Demetriades, and Aaron McGrath – will also participate.
In the synopsis, we find that Mackenzie Clarke, the initial female detective in The Paraverse, is compelled to depart from London due to a shroud of suspicion, and returns to a place she’s long avoided – her hometown, Dolphin Cove in Australia.
Six years ago, Mackenzie abandoned her hometown in infamy, leaving Glenn at the altar. Now shunned, she finds herself without other employment options and an insatiable curiosity for solving mysteries. Reluctantly, Mackenzie decides to join the team at Dolphin Cove Police Station.

When a case comes across her desk, she won’t stop until she solves it and the culprit is apprehended. It’s her unyielding determination and dedication that could eventually earn Mackenzie the respect of her fellow workers and the residents of Dolphin Cove.
In the latest preview, Mackenzie returns home to find an icy reception. Later, a corpse is discovered on the shoreline, leading the detective to join the investigation.
The new installment of the paraverse has not been given a specific release date as of now, but it was completed filming in July 2024. Therefore, we can anticipate it premiering sometime around autumn. Viewers in the UK will be able to watch it on BBC One and iPlayer, while those in Australia can tune in to ABC and ABC iview.
The highly anticipated series “Return to Paradise” has yet to announce its premiere date. Meanwhile, both “Death in Paradise” and its offshoot, “Beyond Paradise,” are currently broadcasted on BBC One and can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
