Death in Paradise’s Josephine Jobert in new look at next detective “main character”

As a gamer with a penchant for detective shows, I can’t help but feel like I’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem in the upcoming series, Saint-Pierre. Having binge-watched Josephine Jobert as DS Florence Cassell in Death in Paradise, I’m thrilled to see her stepping into a new role as Deputy Chief Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault.

Actress Josephine Jobert, best known for her role in “Death in Paradise,” exudes the essence of a leading character in a fresh portrayal of her character within the police drama titled “Saint-Pierre.”

In the next series, Detective Sergeant Florence Cassell, played by Jobert, who reappeared during the final season of Death in Paradise, will be portraying a detective working on cases in yet another beautiful setting.

The series, titled “Archambault,” is based in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, a French territory nestled near the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. In this production, Jobert plays Deputy Chief Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault, a detective who hails from Paris.

Behind the scenes footage of Jobert’s character Geneviève from the series has been shared on the official Instagram page, showcasing the detective in a monochrome outfit: a black sweater and pants paired with a beige coat.

The title of the post shared by the Saint-Pierre Instagram account says: “Starring moments featuring @josephinejobert_official” (or “Spotlight moments with @josephinejobert_official”)

As per Saint-Pierre’s plot summary, Geneviève collaborates with Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick (played by Allan Hawco), who is sent to the island following his investigation into shady dealings of a local political figure, leading to his exile.

By an uncanny twist of events, these two experienced police officers – each with distinct policing techniques and styles – find themselves partnered up to tackle unusual and thrilling cases.

Hidden behind this tropical paradise I call home, a shadowy underworld lurks. As a dedicated gamer, I find myself in a real-life detective scenario, where I must put aside my personal conflicts with another player and join forces to uncover the truth hidden beneath the sunny surface.

It’s planned that Saint-Pierre will make its debut on CBC Television in Canada during the upcoming winter season. The specifics regarding its international broadcast are still undisclosed.

Jobert and Hawco will be joined by cast members including James Purefoy as Sean Gallagher.

Saint-Pierre is set to premiere on CBC Television in the winter of 2025.
