Death in Paradise’s brand new spin-off finally confirms UK release date
As a devoted fan who has spent countless hours basking in the tropical mysteries of Saint Marie, I can hardly contain my excitement for the UK premiere of “Return to Paradise”! Having grown accustomed to the sun-kissed shores and quirky characters of “Death in Paradise,” the Australian spin-off promises a fresh dose of paradisiacal intrigue.
Death in Paradise‘s new Australian spin-off has confirmed a UK release date – and it’s not far off.
The story, titled “Return to Paradise,” will center around a fresh character named DI Mackenzie Clarke, portrayed by Anna Samson from “Home and Away.” She finds herself back in her old coastal town, Dolphin Cove, and unwillingly becomes part of the local police force.
The BBC has officially announced that the show is set to debut in the United Kingdom on Friday, November 22nd, airing at 8:00 PM on BBC One.
Alongside Samson, the series also features Tai Hara from “Home and Away” playing Clarke’s former fiancé Glenn, as well as Lloyd Griffith known for “Ted Lasso,” Catherine McClements, Celia Ireland, Andrea Demetriades, and Aaron McGrath.
The synopsis reads: “The Paraverse’s first lead female detective Mackenzie Clarke is forced to leave London under a cloud of suspicion and return back to the last place she ever wanted to be, her hometown of Dolphin Cove, Australia.
Six years ago, Mackenzie infamously abandoned her fiancé Glenn at the altar and left town. Now, find herself with limited employment opportunities elsewhere, Mackenzie is unwelcome in her old hometown. However, her innate urge to unravel mysteries drives her to reluctantly join the team at Dolphin Cove Police Station.
When a case comes across her desk, she becomes relentless until she solves it and captures the perpetrator. This unyielding determination and dedication could potentially earn Mackenzie respect from her peers and the residents of Dolphin Cove over time.
In the past few months, the popular TV show “Death in Paradise” concluded its 13th season. This season marked the exit of Ralf Little from his role as DI Neville Parker. Starting this Christmas, Don Gilet will take over the position, debuting as new DI Mervin Wilson.
Elsewhere, filming on the third season of spin-off show Beyond Paradise began over the summer.
The British premiere of “Return to Paradise” is set for Friday, November 22 at 8pm on BBC One. Both “Death in Paradise” and its spin-off series, “Beyond Paradise,” can be watched on BBC One and streamed on BBC iPlayer.
