Death in Paradise’s Ben Miller shares daughter’s hilarious Paddington 3 reaction
As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in various digital worlds, I must say that stepping into the cinematic universe of Paddington has been a refreshing change of pace. The latest adventure, “Paddington in Peru,” is not just a film, but an enchanting journey into the heart of South America, transforming bustling Leicester Square into the Peruvian jungle.
Actor Ben Miller from the show “Death in Paradise” posted a humorous yet frank response from his daughter upon watching “Paddington in Peru.
In the new movie, you’ll find the comedian-actor once again stepping into the shoes of Colonel Lancaster, a character he played in the second film. He makes an appearance within the initial five minutes of the story, just before the main characters embark on their journey to Peru.
On the show “Sunday Brunch” yesterday (17th November), Miller expressed his admiration for the third film, as well as revealing his daughter’s reaction to his performance in it.
In Peru, they say “Paddington was fantastic“, he declared. “I watched it a fortnight ago at its premiere, accompanied by my 9-year-old daughter. Five minutes into the movie, and after I had made an appearance, she exclaimed, ‘Is this why we came all this way?’.
He clarifies that his role in the movie is crucial since he provides Paddington with an umbrella. In other words, if he wasn’t there, it’s doubtful that the entire plot would have unfolded.
He’s referring to an umbrella that his character gives Paddington which ends up getting him out of multiple scrapes throughout the film, including being used in conjunction with a marmalade sandwich to convince a llama to let him ride.
Miller remarked that Paddington in Peru was simply marvelous. The opening event had an exceptional atmosphere, transforming Leicester Square into a vibrant Peruvian rainforest, making it truly delightful.
As a gamer, I’d put it like this: Even though the third Paddington flick doesn’t quite match up to the brilliance of Paddington 2, according to critics like Digital Spy, it’s still an impressive watch. And guess what? The latest adventure, Paddington in Peru, is currently sitting pretty with a whopping 93% rating among critics on Rotten Tomatoes!
Compared to its predecessors, the most recent “Paddington” movie achieved the highest box office earnings during its opening weekend and also established a new record as the top-grossing opening weekend for a British-made film in 2022.
Although the studio hasn’t formally declared a fourth movie yet, they plan to release something between 2027 and 2028, along with a television series. However, the box office performance of “Paddington in Peru” definitely suggests a positive outlook.
Paddington in Peru is out in cinemas now.
