Death in Paradise releases first trailer for season 14

Death in Paradise has dropped the first trailer for season 14.

Next week, the BBC series will be back on air, featuring a fresh character – DI Mervin Wilson, played by Don Gilet, as he adapts to life in Saint Marie.

To be honest, I’m thrilled about the latest sneak peek! Despite the hint of a fresh detective joining the scene, it seems like things will carry on much the same way on that beautiful Caribbean island – business as usual, if you will.

Although Mervin initially harbored dreams of returning to the UK, subtle signs suggest that our new detective seems to be growing fond of his current location, as he becomes more involved in solving cases.

As I watch the video, it culminates with a shocking twist: Mervin hints to Commissioner Patterson (Don Warrington) that he suspects his mom’s demise might not have been an accident after all. It’s my turn now in this gripping game of detective!

In the latest summary, it’s hinted that “Mervin will delve deeper into his mother’s past in Saint Marie, and he might find out that things there aren’t as straightforward as they appear.

“As everything he thought he knew unravels, will his life ever be the same again?” it added.

Apart from being scheduled to premiere on Friday, January 31st, the latest season has also announced a lineup of prominent guest stars such as Tobi Bakare from Kingsman, Patricia Allison of Sex Education, Tala Gouveia known for McDonald & Dodds, and Simon Lennon who is recognized from Emmerdale.

Additionally, you’ll see actors such as Madeline Appiah and Judith Jacob from “EastEnders”, Bhavna Limbachia from “Coronation Street”, and Adam James from “Wicked” making an appearance too.

Or, for a shorter version:

Madeline Appiah, Judith Jacob (“EastEnders”), Bhavna Limbachia (“Coronation Street”), and Adam James (“Wicked”) are also set to appear.

At Christmastime, Don first appeared on screen as Mervin. In a four-star review of the special by Digital Spy, they noted that the actor infused the series with a “novel” style.

Death in Paradise will return on Friday, January 31 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
