It seems that John Leguizamo has taken to social media with a fiery post, slamming Dean for his decision to join the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The post was quite critical, expressing deep disapproval towards Dean’s association with an organization that is often subjected to intense scrutiny regarding its immigration policies.

Just a moment ago, I was all fired up learning that back in the ’90s, the guy who donned the cape and shield as our beloved Superman on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, none other than the legendary Cain, has declared his intentions to lend a hand in saving good ol’ America. The post included a photo of the Superman star with ‘Pronouns: Has/Been’ written over his face. 

In a playful manner, a social media user jokingly questioned, “Who’s Dean?” To which Leguizamo humorously responded, “Enough said!

On the very same day, the Colombian actor, known for his roles in more than 100 films such as Die Hard 2, Ice Age, and Encanto, among others, also posted another image of Cain on Instagram with the caption: ‘Just how much of a failure do you have to be to willingly become an ICE AGENT?’

Born and bred in Bogota, Leguizamo later rose to fame as a Hollywood star. Throughout his career, he’s been an outspoken advocate for immigrants, often expressing his political views on various social media platforms.

During the past month, there was an intense disagreement between him and Bill Maher, as the former expressed dissatisfaction regarding immigrants from less developed nations who are not legally documented.

During a segment on his Club Random podcast, the actor resisted Maher’s arguments and emphasized that there’s ample space in the United States for diverse perspectives.

Following John Leguizamo’s recent critique, it stems from Cain expressing his intent to back Trump’s immigration policy tightening and assist in recruitment endeavors.

In a social media video uploaded on Wednesday, Cain stated: ‘I am both a police officer bound by oath and a filmmaker. I believe it’s crucial for me to work alongside our emergency responders to ensure the safety of all U.S. citizens, not just discuss it. Therefore, I decided to join their ranks.’

In his subsequent remarks, Cain emphasized that during the presidency of Donald Trump, ICE apprehended a large number of individuals – estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands – who were not only common criminals but also terrorists, sexual predators such as rapists and pedophiles, murderers, and members of the violent MS-13 gang, as well as drug traffickers.

It’s worth noting that ICE often records arrests under these categories, but data suggests that a significant number of individuals arrested by ICE have no criminal background or have only been convicted of minor offenses.

Cain’s announcement comes as Homeland Security pushes to recruit more ICE agents.

Just last week, Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security Secretary, issued a statement encouraging individuals to join ICE service. In her words, “The nation needs you to protect it. Let’s stand united in safeguarding our home.

In a straightforward manner, it can be said that Cain has consistently maintained a strong connection with his Superman persona and has previously advocated for diverse representations of the character.

In the past, he expressed his approval for Michael B. Jordan portraying a Black Superman and commended James Gunn’s rendition of the character, which emphasizes themes of belonging and acceptance.

Originating from the minds of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, two sons of Jewish immigrant families, Superman is an extraterrestrial hailing from the distant planet Krypton. He was adopted and nurtured in the state of Kansas before embodying the ideals that are synonymous with American culture.

In a recent episode of Vox’s Today, Explained, titled “Super Mad About Superman,” experts on scholarship and popular culture pointed out that Superman’s narrative reflects the immigrant journey in the United States.

They noted that this has always been the case. 

In a situation where Cain finds himself, Superman feels annoyed when Immigration Services question him about his green card, implying, “Aren’t you an extraterrestrial?” in a casual manner.
