Deadpool 3 final trailer confirms an unexpected Marvel return
As a hardcore gamer and comic book fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Dafne Keen’s X-23 was making her return in the upcoming Marvel movie, “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The new trailer confirmed my suspicions, and it felt like a blast from the past.
Deadpool & Wolverine has confirmed the return of Dafne Keen’s X-23 in a new trailer.
In the last sneak peek of the new Marvel film, you’ll see the introduction of a character who was first introduced in the 2017 movie “Logan.” Take a look here.
As a fan, I noticed in the video how X-23’s return is subtly teased with a quick flashback from Logan. Later on, Wolverine (played by Hugh Jackman) speaks to an unseen audience, asserting “I’m not the one you’re looking for.”
After a moment of intrigue, the enigmatic character spins around to unveil no other than X-23. She addresses him, saying, “You’ve always been the incorrect choice… until now.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Keen, who was recently seen in “The Acolyte” and previously hid her Deadpool look, shared her enjoyment of the secret-keeping process: “I found it amusing to maintain the secrecy. During press tours for a previous project, I was asked about it repeatedly. Each time, I could just fib, adding some humor to the conversations.”
I was deeply inspired by how Andrew Garfield kept fans guessing about his role in “No Way Home” last year. His ability to keep us on the edge of our seats made him a true master at this game of surprises.
In the comic books “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Logan,” Laura, as portrayed by Keen, is depicted with a deeper understanding of Wolverine’s anger towards being a father. She elaborated on this distinction, revealing that her character’s connection to Wolverine’s paternal emotions has grown more complex.
She expressed joy at returning as an adult to rediscover that experience and added a deeper level of understanding of parental anger to their interaction. (Or) It was a delight for her to revisit that experience as a mature person, equipped with a greater comprehension of parental anger, which she could now contribute to their interactions.
In the movie “Logan,” I discovered that Laura experienced the loss of her father after initially gaining one. Later, we see Laura deeply cherishing and understanding the value of her dad’s presence in her life.
In addition to X-23, both Deadpool and Wolverine feature appearances by Sabretooth (played by Tyler Mane), Pyro (Aaron Stanford), and Colossus (Stefan Kapičić).
Next week, a new movie will be released with the main characters, named after the titles, joining forces to confront the wicked Cassandra Nova, portrayed by Emma Corrin.
Deadpool & Wolverine is released in UK cinemas on July 25 and in US cinemas on July 26.
