In a recent update, the survival horror game Dead by Daylight has introduced a new character – Ken Kaneki, famously known as ‘The Ghoul’, hailing from the widely-acclaimed anime series Tokyo Ghoul, into its asymmetric multiplayer setup.
Apart from being a “streamlined, fashionable, and speedy” high-maneuverability Assassin, The Ghoul can traverse large distances “in an instant,” capable of launching sudden attacks to tear the tissue of any unlucky Survivors, appearing to attack out of thin air. According to developer Behaviour, The Ghoul provides “enjoyable, well-balanced gameplay” for both seasoned players and beginners.
With tentacles sprouting from his back, the Ghoul can summon his “One-Eyed Terror” ability to trace Survivors. He’s also capable of climbing any upright surface and launching himself forward using his “Kagune Leap” skill, performing a series of two leaps. If the second leap strikes a Survivor, they’ll sustain Deep Wounds and be marked by the Kagune, causing the Ghoul to become enraged.
When enraged, he gains the ability to perform a third consecutive Kagune Leap, significantly boosting his jumping speed. In this state, he becomes a formidable adversary. Additionally, he has other advantages at his disposal as a Ghoul.
- Hex: Nothing But Misery: Damage a number of Survivors to turn a Dull Totem into a Hex: Totem. While the Hex is active, Survivors will become briefly Hindered when hit with a Basic Attack.
- Forever Entwined: Whenever a Survivor takes damage, you gain 1 Token. For each Token, increase the speed you pick up, drop, and Hook Survivors.
- None Are Free: When you Hook a Survivor for the first time, gain 1 token, up to 4. When all Generators are completed, for each token, all Windows and upright Pallets are blocked for a duration.
Dead by Daylight: Tokyo Ghoul is now available, and you can check it out in the trailers below.
