DC Comics unexpectedly revealed plans to revive a beloved classic brand with a fresh lineup of comic books launching next year.
What DC brand is making a comeback?
DC Comics is bringing back Vertigo, its mature-readers imprint that originally launched in 1993. After first hinting at its return last year, DC has now released a trailer showcasing some of the initial titles planned for the revived line.
DC Vertigo is launching with four initial titles: The Nice House on the Sea by James Tynion IV and Álvaro Martínez Bueno, Bleeding Hearts from Deniz Camp and Stipan Morian, End of Life by Kyle Starks and Steve Pugh, and The Peril of Brutal Dark created by Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips.
These four titles will launch in February 2026, marking the official revival of Vertigo. You can watch a sneak peek trailer about their return below.
DC Vertigo started in 1993, created by Karen Berger, as a way for DC Comics to publish stories aimed at mature readers. It quickly became famous for popular and influential comics like The Sandman, Swamp Thing, Preacher, Y: The Last Man, Fables, and Hellblazer.
The comic book line was shut down in 2020 as part of a company reorganization. But in 2024, the company announced it would bring the line back, with Chris Conroy, who edits DC’s Black Label comics, leading the editorial team. We now have a better idea of the future plans for the line, and even more new titles are scheduled to debut in 2026.
