I’ve been telling the people I’m working with that I’m really interested in playing a more flawed, messier character. I explained to them exactly the type of personality I had in mind, and how that could shake things up in their story. Honestly, I think audiences are craving that kind of character right now – someone a little less perfect, a little more real, than the usual hero.
Alan Ritchson has become a popular choice among fans for comic book movie roles, thanks to his success playing Jack Reacher in Amazon’s action series. Even Marvel writer David Michelinie has a specific role in mind for him: Venom. Michelinie recently told TheDoctorX11 that he previously shared pictures of Ritchson, showing him in shape and yelling, believing he’d be a perfect fit as Eddie Brock/Venom in a future Spider-Man movie, and he still feels that way.
