In an interview with Barrymore, Dax revealed that there had been quite a sensational rumor circulating in the gossip columns, claiming that we were part of the Hollywood swinging scene and used to organize these events at our place.
The rumors were so widespread that Kristen and Dax’s famous friends — including Jimmy Kimmel — started jokingly reaching out to them about ‘invites.’

‘[Canadian producer] Shauna Robertson introduced us,’ shared the mom-of-two during the interview.
I became acquainted with Shauna around the time she made Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and she frequently collaborated with Dax in the comedy industry. Their relationship was quite tight.
In 2004, Shauna invited us both to her birthday celebration, held at a cozy sushi eatery. All I can recall from that evening was my thoughts: “The fellow from Punk’d sure is loquacious. Incredible how talkative he is.” There was no spark between us on that occasion.
Kristen shared that she later spotted him attending a Detroit Kings hockey match several years on, accompanied by their common acquaintance, Michael.
She had recently ended her relationship with Kevin Mann. Now, she was eager and open to socializing and meeting new people.
I wasn’t well acquainted with Dax, but I knew Michael quite well. In my mind, I thought, “It’s been a while since I was single, and I haven’t had this opportunity in years. I think I’ll go talk to Michael and give flirting a try.

I replied, “No, only this,” and I slightly demurely pulled it out from my mouth. He then snatched it from me, saying, “I will have it.
Afterward, he took it into his mouth, leaving me feeling, “It seems this man has romantic intentions towards me.” Undeniably, at that moment, I found myself completely captivated.
The actress shared that following that event, they began spending time together, which felt like a sudden realization for her, as if a light had been turned on, signaling, “Here is what I have been searching for.
However, she acknowledged that Dax found the pace of their relationship overwhelming, leading him to end it shortly afterwards.
Four short days had passed, but an unexpected twist came my way. He reached out, calling me up to share his desire – a yearning to rekindle our connection once more.
She remembered him saying that he had found himself on an alternative date, seated next to another woman, and expressed his confusion, asking, “What am I doing here?
‘He called me and said he made a big mistake and that he’d like to try again.’
Kristen has shared that each new finding about Dax only serves to further amaze her.
