Dax Shepard shared a screenshot of his personal text messages to show how he genuinely felt after not winning a Golden Globe.
This year’s ceremony included a new award for best podcast. Dax Shepard was nominated for his show, Armchair Expert, which he co-hosts with Monica Padman.
Despite Dax Shepard’s nomination, Amy Poehler won the award for her podcast, Good Hang.
Following his loss, he shared a screenshot on Instagram of a text conversation he’d had with one of his daughters – either 12-year-old Lincoln or 11-year-old Delta – that evening.
Before the show began, one of his daughters sweetly wrote to him, saying, ‘You look so handsome, Dada! Your suit is stunning,’ which brought a touching response from Shepard.
Honestly, the only thing that disappointed me about not winning was the lost opportunity to get on stage and publicly express how much I adore them both – your sister and you. It was really about wanting to share that love with everyone.

He sent the message with several heart emojis, then shared it on Instagram with the caption, ‘I won tonight. And every night.’
Shepard accompanied his wife to the Golden Globes, where she was up for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series for ‘Nobody Wants This.’ Although she didn’t win, the award went to Jean Smart of ‘Hacks,’ who won for the third consecutive year.
At the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, Timothée Chalamet became the frontrunner for the Best Actor Oscar, surpassing Leonardo DiCaprio (star of One Battle After Another), after winning the award for his performance in Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie.
Leading up to awards season, Leonardo DiCaprio, at 51, was the frontrunner to win the Best Actor Oscar. However, according to predictions from Kalshi, a regulated exchange and prediction market, Timothée Chalamet is now the clear favorite to win the top acting prize at the March Academy Awards.
Despite the competition, Leonardo DiCaprio’s film, One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, won Best Picture – Comedy or Musical at an awards show on Sunday night at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. It beat out several other nominees, including Timothée Chalamet’s film, as well as Blue Moon, Bugonia, No Other Choice, and Nouvelle Vague.
Though “One Battle After Another” took home the most awards at the ceremony – a total of four – it’s expected to have strong competition at the Oscars. “Hanmet,” directed by Chloe Zhao, won the final award of the night, Best Picture – Drama, beating out films like “Frankenstein,” “It Was Just An Accident,” “The Secret Agent,” “Sentimental Value,” and “Sinners.”
Three television shows took home awards: The Pitt won in the drama category, The Studio won for comedy or musical series, and Adolescence was recognized as the best limited series.
Thirty-year-old Timothée Chalamet sparked conversation when he seemingly ignored his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, while accepting his award for Marty Supreme.

The French actor had a big night at the awards show, winning the award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy film. He finished his acceptance speech quickly, simply saying, ‘To my parents and partner, I love you. Thank you so much.’
Jenner, 28, received a surprisingly understated expression of affection when her partner publicly declared her love at last week’s Critics Choice Awards 2026.
Timothée Chalamet won the role, beating out strong competition including Leonardo DiCaprio. Other actors considered for the part were George Clooney, Ethan Hawke, Lee Byung-Hun, and Jesse Plemons.
One Battle After Another was the big winner at the awards, taking home four prizes – including Best Picture for a Comedy or Musical. Paul Thomas Anderson won awards for both Best Director and Best Screenplay, and Teyana Taylor unexpectedly won Best Supporting Actress.
One Battle After Another has enjoyed a strong awards season so far, but it will have tough competition from the film Hamnet, featuring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, which recently won Best Picture in the Drama category.
Buckley won a major acting award, receiving the prize for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.
Irish actress, age 36, won an acting award, beating out well-known performers like Jennifer Lawrence, Renate Reinsve, Julia Roberts, Tessa Thompson, and Eva Victor.
Netflix’s series Adolescence was the big winner on television, taking home all the awards in its categories. Notably, 16-year-old Owen Cooper, the show’s star, became one of the youngest people ever to win a Golden Globe Award.
The young actor won an award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series, limited series, or movie.
