As an ardent admirer of Dawn French, her unwavering courage and conviction never cease to amaze me. Her life experiences have not only shaped her into the brilliant comedian she is today but also fueled her passion for standing up for what she believes in. Her recent political statement on Instagram, sporting two necklaces that read ‘Refugees Welcome’ and ‘No Borders’, serves as a testament to her compassionate heart and strong convictions.

Dawn French made a strong political statement on Wednesday as she took to Instagram.

The humorist, aged 66, posted a photo of two necklaces on her Story, where one charm read “Refugees Are Welcome” and the other stated “No Boundaries”.

In a lively post, the star of “The Vicar of Dibley” displayed her fresh acquisitions from Topple and Burn, proudly exclaiming, “Indeed!” in the title.

The jewelry manufacturer produces pieces that make political statements, and they’ve been purchased by America Ferrera, members of the Barbie film cast, and singer Rag’n’Bone Man.

Some of their pieces include earrings that say ‘F**k the Tories’ and ‘MY body my choice’.

Each of Dawn’s necklaces retails for £23.95, with half of the earnings donated to the London Migration Film Festival.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself reflecting on a recent revelation – Britain being recognized as the European hub for illegal migration, as per a groundbreaking study from Oxford University.

Newly released findings indicate that approximately 745,000 individuals seeking asylum reside in the United Kingdom at present, representing about 1% of the entire populace.

This encompasses individuals from other countries who stayed beyond the duration of their visas, unsuccessful asylum applicants, and migrants who braved the perilous voyage across the Channel in small watercraft.

In France and the UK, the estimated number of illegal migrants exceeds 300,000 each, with the UK holding a lead over Germany, where approximately 700,000 illegal migrants are believed to reside, as reported by The Telegraph.

This is not the first time Dawn has been outspoken in her opinions.

Previously this year, during an interview with the Happy Place podcast in April, the comedian expressed her frustration over being advised to “get up to speed” regarding the transgender debate triggered by JK Rowling.

She added it was ‘very powerful’ to be able to use the phrase ‘I don’t know’ and urged the younger generation to get a better understanding, arguing cancel culture has wiped out a margin of error.

Dawn shared with host Fearne Cotton that instead of promoting understanding among people as one might expect, we’re actually exhibiting the opposite behavior – we’re extremely intolerant, quick to point fingers, engaged in lawsuits, cyberbullying, and all sorts of unpleasant activities which have nothing to do with grasping how other human beings function.

‘We acknowledge our imperfections – our errors, shortcomings, and flaws. However, due to societal expectations that we should appear flawless and only highlight our successes, there seems to be little room for mistakes.’

Dawn went on to say how a robust debate was the ‘best thing in the world‘.

She noted: ‘However, it seems unworkable if our strategy involves digging in, defending with hostility and anger, followed by blame and cancellation.’

‘I genuinely think we’re being forced into corners where I can smell my own cowardice.
