Davina McCall’s new husband Michael Douglas first met the star on Big Brother and left ex-wife and mother of his sons ‘devastated’ when their romance was revealed

I was so thrilled to hear that Davina McCall and Michael Douglas finally got married! It was a lovely, intimate ceremony in London just last week. It’s been a whirlwind since their surprise engagement in Ibiza a couple of months ago, and I’m so happy for them both!

The 58-year-old TV host spoke fondly of her new husband, 49, after their wedding. She credited him with being a wonderful support during her recent health challenges, including surgery for a non-cancerous brain tumor and a breast cancer diagnosis.

Davina and Michael first connected when Michael styled her hair while she was the presenter of Big Brother, a job she held from 2000 to 2010.

Their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship in the summer of 2019, two years after she ended her marriage with Matthew Robertson.

Michael and his ex-wife, Tracy, have two sons together. Tracy was reportedly very upset when Michael began a public relationship with someone new.

I remember when Davina first came into the picture – she’d actually met the kids, and honestly, Tracey never in a million years believed Michael would end up with her. It was a total shock to everyone.

Tracey was deeply hurt to learn about the relationship and to discover they had been openly displaying affection in public, a source told The Sun.

‘She’s been crying a lot and trying to get her head around it.’

The source also mentioned that Michael and Tracey separated last year, but they remained on good terms. Tracey continued to live close by so she could maintain a close bond with their two sons.

Michael, a well-known hairdresser originally from Leyland in northwest Lancashire, once thought about becoming a motorbike mechanic before deciding to pursue his passion for hair styling.

I’ve been following his work for years, and it’s incredible to see how far he’s come! He actually started his career over 21 years ago as a junior at Wella’s London studio, and he’s steadily worked his way up from there. It’s been amazing to watch his progress.

He’s become a highly sought-after stylist, and has worked with many famous clients like Kate Moss, Johnny Depp, and Sienna Miller.

He’s also shared his knowledge on popular TV programs like Good Morning Britain, The One Show, and This Morning.

Michael also created mdlondon, a hair styling company dedicated to making hair styling simpler and more straightforward, removing the confusion and unrealistic expectations often associated with salon hairstyles.

The presenter and hair stylist got married in a small, private ceremony on Friday, with only their closest friends and family present. The news was made public on Wednesday.

Davina chose a white, faux fur coat instead of a traditional wedding dress when she married Michael in a small ceremony in London.

Photos captured the sweet moment the couple left Marylebone Town Hall as husband and wife.

Davina beamed as she posed with her new husband, showcasing a white fur coat and lace hat she wore with matching tights and heels. Michael looked sharp in a bright blue suit.

Davina and Michael received lots of love and support from family and friends at their wedding. Before the ceremony, Davina’s 21-year-old daughter, Tilly, even shared a video on TikTok.

Showing off her wedding look, she captioned the post: ‘Be prepared to be SICK of me.’ 

Michael publicly complained about a very bad hotel room he stayed in on Thursday night, shortly after quietly getting married to the TV presenter.

The hairdresser returned to work immediately after their wedding and shared that they were in a disappointing room while doing an Instagram Live session on Thursday night.

Immediately after the wedding, he returned to work, styling Miranda Hart’s hair for her appearance on The One Show. Then, he traveled to Cambridge for another job, requiring an overnight stay.

Oh my gosh, he was live again! It was the eleventh advent stream, can you believe it? And it was on the 11th of December, perfect! He started by asking how we all were, which is so sweet, and he said he was actually broadcasting from a hotel room in Cambridge! It was a short one tonight, but honestly, even a quick glimpse of him is amazing.

He then added: ‘It’s horrible! I don’t know who designs these hotels these days,’ before laughing. 

I’ve been busy doing hair, and I have a large event to prepare for tomorrow. I even had the chance to style Miranda Hart’s hair tonight – she was wonderful to work with!
