Matthew Robertson, who is divorced from Davina McCall, recently honored a friend who helped him through a difficult period, just days after McCall’s unexpected second wedding.
As someone who’s followed many a relationship, I know things change. I separated from my husband, Matthew, back in 2017, after being married for 17 wonderful years. We’re proud parents to three amazing kids – Holly, who’s 24, Tilly, 22, and our youngest, Chester, who’s 19. Life evolves, and we’re all navigating it the best way we can.
She has since married celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas, 49, in a small, private ceremony in London earlier this month.
Shortly after news of her private wedding became public, her former partner, Matthew, spoke about a difficult period in his life while honoring a friend.
On Monday, Matthew posted a photo on Instagram with a friend named Mark Diggins, praising him as a ‘silent warrior’.
Today is my birthday, and the man in this photo is my best friend, Mark Diggins. He helped me through a really difficult period in my life and showed me how to enjoy and truly live while being outdoors.
He’s a remarkably skilled mountain guide who prefers to work quietly behind the scenes, earning a reputation as one of the best in the world.
Davina added: ‘Today is not about me, but to all the amazing, kind and supportive people around me.
I want to thank Mark and his wonderful wife, Nikki, as well as my children, who bring so much joy to my life, and everyone else who supports me.
Davina has married Michael, her hairdresser of many years. They both went through divorces previously, and Michael has two children.
They started dating once her divorce from Matthew Robertson was complete in April 2018.
Davina and Michael recently got married in a small, private ceremony with their closest friends and family. This happened just under three months after they got engaged while in Ibiza.
Photos captured the sweet moment Davina and Michael left Marylebone Town Hall as a married couple.
Davina beamed as she posed with her new husband, sporting a white fur coat and lace hat over matching tights and heels. Michael looked sharp in a bright blue suit.
Davina and her partner recently got married after he stood by her through a brain tumor removal and a new breast cancer diagnosis. Friends say her health challenges were the reason they decided to tie the knot now.
Davina and Michael received lots of love and support from family and friends at their wedding. Davina’s daughter, Tilly, 21, even shared a video on TikTok before the ceremony.

The poem wasn’t about grand gestures; it celebrated the simple, shared moments. It wasn’t about fancy flowers or expensive champagne, but about working alongside someone you love, and enjoying a cozy cup of tea in a well-loved mug.
It’s more than just a sweet craving—it’s a full-on obsession, like Bruce Bogtrotter with cake or Augustus Gloop with chocolate. Sometimes, I just want simple comfort food—like pizza—instead of something elaborate, because honestly, nothing hits the spot quite like it.
According to a source, Davina and Michael had a beautiful, intimate wedding. They kept it small and personal, choosing a venue near their home and inviting only about ten close friends and family members.
The ceremony was a very personal and meaningful event, shared with people who are incredibly important to them. After a challenging few months with Davina’s health, they felt ready to make their commitment official and didn’t want to delay it any longer.
The following day, everyone went back to their routines. Interestingly, they ended up attending another friend’s wedding that same day.
Okay, so they finally went public as a couple, and it was everything I dreamed of! She was showing off her ring – the ring! – and they just looked so happy together. Honestly, it was the perfect weekend, I’m still reeling!
