Davina McCall Throws Party for Brain Tumor, Named Jeffrey
Davina McCall has revealed she named her brain tumour, and even threw it a party.
In the realm of my personal health journey, I found myself grappling with an uncommon brain condition known as a colloid cyst, which, despite being benign, posed a threat of sudden, untimely demise. Thankfully, life-saving surgery in November 2024 became my salvation.
57-year-old former “Big Brother” celebrity referred to her brain tumor as “Jeffrey” during an episode of her podcast titled “Begin Again.
In the absence of any friends named Jeffrey, I decided to call him by that name. Subsequently, we celebrated his birthday with our other friends, hosting a ‘Jeffrey’ themed party.
She mentioned that her partner, hairdresser Michael Douglas (aged 49), performed on the piano, sang some tunes, and delivered talks. We all had a conversation, and she shared that she felt apprehensive, yet expressed confidence by saying, “I’m going to do it.
In my case, I’m grateful that such an event occurred to me, as I possess a strong mental fortitude and the ability to manage it effectively.

The mother-of-three was so fearful of dying that she ensured her affairs were in order.
‘I wrote letters of wishes to all the children, and put those in my will.’
She expressed, “My intention was to figure out a solution so everyone could continue if something happened to me. They truly inspire me with their resilience.
In my interpretation, the host of The Long Lost Family show felt convinced that, mentally, he was the picture of perfect health… Subsequently, a full-body scan was carried out on him.
‘And they came back and they went, “Okay, we’ve got your results. Um… we’d like to talk to you.”’
Despite the severity of her condition, she was determined to avoid pity.
It seems you didn’t fancy the added complications or turmoil, is that correct? I felt that the situation would only become a hundred times more challenging for me. I don’t appreciate a sense of helplessness or excessive concern. People have often commented since then, “When you shared your story, I thought you were at the brink.
And I mused, “I’d rather not have others regard me as if I’m on the brink of demise. I’m grappling with it myself. All I desire is a dose of optimism.

Now, as she recovers, the author sees life with a fresh perspective.
‘I feel like life’s never going to be the same again, but in rather a good way.’
She commented, ‘A life spent in fear is only half-experienced. Go ahead and create your wish list (or bucket list) now. Avoid postponing it until it might be too late.’
