I noticed a lump a few weeks ago that would appear and disappear. Then, while working on the TV shows The Masked Singer and Lorraine, I saw that Lorraine Kelly had put up reminders on all the bathroom doors to check for breast lumps. I started checking every time I used the restroom.

It hadn’t gone away, and one day I noticed it in the mirror, which made me realize I needed to get it checked. After a biopsy, I learned I had breast cancer.

She went on to explain that she had it taken out in a lumpectomy about three weeks ago.

They always double-check everything and make sure the profit margins are good. This particular issue was very minor, so I caught it right away, which I was very fortunate to do.

I’m incredibly relieved the growth is gone and hasn’t spread – my lymph nodes were checked and are clear. I just need five days of radiotherapy in January as a precaution, and then I can focus on staying cancer-free.

She expressed her gratitude to the staff at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she received care, and to her children and partner, Michael Douglas, who is now her fiancé.

I was upset when I learned about it, but I’ve moved past that and feel much better now. My main advice is to get checked regularly. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to examine yourself, and if it’s time for a mammogram, please schedule one.

Stars like Anna Friel, Dawn French, Claudia Winkleman, Ferne Cotton, and Nicole Appleton were among those sending messages of love and support.

I thought it was really cool how she used her voice to remind everyone to check for signs of breast cancer and talked so openly about what she was going through. Macmillan and Breast Cancer Now even gave her props for it, which she totally deserved!

A year ago, McCall had surgery to remove a non-cancerous brain tumor. She has since shared that it was “probably the most difficult experience of her life” and that she struggled with memory loss during her recovery.

If you’re looking for more information or support related to breast cancer or its treatment, several organizations can help. These include Macmillan Cancer Support, Coppafeel!, Cancer Research UK, and Stand Up to Cancer.
