Davina McCall reveals the reason why she’s ‘not interested’ in marrying boyfriend Michael Douglas as she insists a wedding is ‘off the table’

Davina McCall recently disclosed that she doesn’t feel the need to marry her partner, Michael Douglas, for a specific reason.
56-year-old host of Your Mum, My Dad, who is now divorced from Matthew Robertson after 17 years of marriage, also had a brief marriage with Andrew Leggett back in 1997.
For over five years now, Davina has been in a contented relationship with the renowned hairstylist, Michael, who is 49 years old. Despite their deep happiness, neither of them has any intention of getting married at this time.
In a recent chat, the ex-Big Brother celebrity discussed their relationship’s future, sharing that they don’t require any formalization since they’re content and joyful just the way they are.
Davina clarified that since they were both previously wed, there was no immediate plan to get married. She emphasized that for the time being, the idea of marriage was not under consideration.
In conversation with The Sun, she clearly answered ‘no’ on two occasions, when asked about her engagement to Michael and any future marriage plans.
In her explanation, she continued: “It’s not an option we’re considering at all. You see, he’s been married previously, and that makes us both content as we are. We prefer to avoid any complications. So, let’s maintain a low profile and keep things as they are.
“Michael and I go way back, so I don’t need to ask questions like that because I already know him well.”)
Davina put an end to any more discussions about her romantic affairs by expressing, “I’m deeply in love with Michael. It feels so special that I prefer not to discuss it openly. I simply wish to treasure it privately.
Davina and Michael had been long-time friends, their friendship blossoming when they crossed paths during the time Davina hosted Big Brother, with Michael providing her hairstyling services.
In January, it was confirmed that Davina and Michael started sharing a home together, and they’ve been establishing some ‘novel customs’ as a pair.
In December 2022, the judge on The Masked Singer disclosed that her boyfriend, who is also her hairdresser, had moved into her house before Christmas. They spent some quality time watching “The King’s Speech” along with Davina’s sister Rebecca.
On their podcast “Making The Cut”, Davina, who made her relationship with Michael known to the public in the summer of 2019, revealed that she is enjoying being a new couple and exploring novel experiences since they recently started cohabiting.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I always find it rewarding to establish fresh customs. Last Christmas, for instance, instead of sticking to the usual routines, I gathered everyone, posed the question: “Alright folks, what new tradition would you like to start from now on?” It’s an exciting way to bring a sense of novelty and unity into our festivities.
A month after, Davina shared that she requires Michael to update her using a video-calling app whenever he’s socializing without her at night.
On their podcast, I learned that TV star friend of mine has shared an exciting tidbit: Michael, a trusted hairdresser, will be sending personalized video updates about his evenings to someone dear to him.
Although Davina claims she’s not typically jealous, she mentioned that receiving updates from the night out helps her feel reassured instead.
She mentioned that when Michael leaves without her, she tends to feel the strongest sense of “I-wish-I-was-there syndrome” (FOMO). Typically, in such situations, she simply joins the gathering by extending an invitation herself.
This application allows for an effortless experience, as all one needs to do is record a message. The recipient can choose to view it in real-time or at their convenience, making it more personal and engaging compared to a traditional text message.
Throughout the night, I received five brief messages from you at intervals, each one indicating that you were growing increasingly tipsy and adorable, occasionally checking up on me and expressing how much fun you were having, mentioning locations, and adding that Sam would be joining us.

In November 2017, Davina officially announced the end of her 17-year union with Matthew, sharing with TopMob, “Regrettably, Matthew and I have decided to part ways. I’m deeply saddened by this.
