Davina McCall and her husband, Michael Douglas, were visibly amused as they attended the Royal Television Society Awards on Tuesday.
The couple, who secretly tied the knot last year, appeared deeply in love as they walked the red carpet at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
Davina, 58, looked incredibly elegant in a shimmering yellow dress. The dress featured cut-outs that showed off her fit physique.
She was accompanied by her husband, Michael, a 49-year-old hairdresser, who looked sharp in a light blue blazer.
Davina is the frontrunner to win the Presenter award at this year’s Royal Television Society Awards.
She’s a nominee alongside Martin Lewis, known for his ITV consumer advice show, and Hamza Yassin, who previously competed on Strictly and hosted Hidden Wild Isles.
The teen drama series is the frontrunner, leading with nominations in six categories. Starring Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham, the popular Netflix show received more nominations than any other single program, including recognition for both Limited Series and Single Drama.
Sixteen-year-old Owen, who stars as the character Jamie Miller in the show, has been nominated for both the Breakthrough Award and the award for Best Supporting Actor.
His co-star Stephen, 52, is also in the running for a gong for male Leading Actor.
Graham is nominated for an award alongside Anthony Boyle from House of Guinness, Bobby Schofield from Unforgivable, and Malachi Kirby, all for their performances in their respective projects, including Graham’s work in A Thousand Blows.
Erin Doherty, the Irish actress recently recognized at the Golden Globes, is up for the Supporting Actress award. She’s competing against Saskia Reeves from “Slow Horses,” Anna Friel for “Unforgivable,” and Amiee Lou Wood from “Toxic Town.”
New mother Erin, 33, is also nominated for female Leading Actor for her role in A Thousand Blows.
Rose Ayling-Ellis, known for her role in EastEnders, is also a contender, recognized for her performance in the ITV drama Code of Silence. Narges Rashidi from Prisoner 951 and Tamara Lawrance for Get Millie Black are also nominated.
The BBC received the most nominations this year, earning a total of 47 across all 29 categories.
Steve Coogan, Oliver Savell, Jon Pointing, and Adjani Salmon are all nominated for the award for Best Comedy Performance by a Male.
Okay, seriously, Celebrity Traitors is EVERYTHING! I’m so obsessed, and it’s amazing to see it’s getting the recognition it deserves – it’s leading the nominations for best Entertainment and Reality show! Honestly, I’m thrilled it’s up there with shows like Married at First Sight and Race Across the World, but let’s be real, Traitors is in a league of its own!
Claudia Winkleman is a contender for the Best Entertainment Performance award, recognized for her work on a popular BBC show. She’s up against Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, both for their series as a duo, and Romesh Ranganathan again for his solo program, Can’t Knock the Hustle.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale, popular soaps on ITV, didn’t make the cut for the Soap and Continuing Drama category. Only Casualty, EastEnders, and Hollyoaks will be competing for the award.
Competing for Best Drama are Blue Lights, Code of Silence, Slow Horses and This City Is Ours.
The show Amandaland received two nominations for Best Comedy Performance by a Female, with Lucy Punch and Philippa Dunne competing against an actress from Transaction.
Jordan Gray and Katherine Parkinson for Here We Go.
Comedian and presenter Tom Allen will host the awards for a fifth year.
Kenton Allen, Chair of the RTS Programme Awards and CEO of Big Talk Studios, explained that the awards showcase the incredible creativity within the UK television industry.
This year’s nominees showcase the skill, fresh ideas, and bold vision that consistently establish Britain as a leading creative force globally.
These programs – created by writers, performers, directors, producers, and the talented teams both in front of and behind the camera – showcase the strength of British storytelling, captivating and impacting viewers in the UK and worldwide.
The Royal Television Society extends its congratulations to all this year’s nominees and thanks them for their creativity, talent, and dedication, which continue to make our television industry a world leader.
