Davina McCall is supported by celebrity pals including Amanda Holden and Penny Lancaster after announcing cancer diagnosis

As a huge Davina McCall fan, it’s so heartwarming to see all her friends and fellow celebrities showing her so much love and support since she bravely shared her breast cancer diagnosis over the weekend. It’s just amazing how everyone is rallying around her, and it makes me so happy to see!

The 58-year-old presenter shared on social media that she recently had a lump removed after a biopsy revealed cancer. She had a lumpectomy just a few weeks ago.

Davina attributes her own breast self-exam to Lorraine Kelly’s ‘Check Your Breasts’ campaign, specifically recalling the posters that encouraged women to regularly check themselves, even in private like ‘on the loo’.

She shared that she recently discovered she has breast cancer. She’d noticed a lump a few weeks prior, which appeared and disappeared.

While I was filming The Masked Singer, the Lorraine show put up signs in the restrooms reminding people to check for breast cancer. Every time I used the bathroom, I checked myself, and the lump was still there.

Davina received an outpouring of support from fans, and many celebrities, like Amanda Holden and Penny Lancaster, also sent their best wishes.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda said: ‘Sending you so much love.’

Penny Lancaster, wife of Sir Rod Stewart, responded with heart and praying emojis, writing, ‘You’re amazing!’

Claudia Winkleman offered her support and shared five love heart emojis.

Dawn French wrote a message praising Davina McCall, calling her a ‘warrior’ and acknowledging how stressful things must have been. She finished by saying Davina is a truly phenomenal woman.

TV star Julia Bradbury, who has also battled the disease, replied: ‘Sending the biggest hugs.’

Giovanni Fletcher shared a heartfelt message, sending lots of love to a woman he describes as gorgeous and kind. He finished with lots of affectionate kisses.

‘Sending you lots of love,’ said Louise Redknapp.

Honestly, Davina sharing what she’s going through just means everything. Macmillan Cancer Support said it perfectly – it’s going to help so many others, just knowing she’s been through this too. It’s amazing she’s being so open, and it’s going to make a real difference, I just know it!

It’s wonderful to hear you’re doing well! We’re sending you our best wishes for your treatment in the new year.

Davina shared in a video that her cancer was detected at a very early stage. However, she will undergo five days of radiotherapy in January as a precaution to ensure it doesn’t return.

She expressed her gratitude to the medical staff, her family, and her fiancé, Michael Douglas. She then shared that while she was initially very upset upon learning of her diagnosis, she’s now moved past that anger and feels much more optimistic.

Davina shared a message encouraging everyone to be familiar with their breasts, pay attention to any changes, and get regular checkups. She emphasized the importance of not delaying appointments and immediately addressing any concerns, sending love and support to all.

The actress first shared news of her condition on Friday evening at her Dine With Davina charity event in Southampton.

The audience was stunned when she revealed that Lorraine Kelly had placed reminders on every bathroom door urging women to perform self-exams. She explained that she checked herself every time she used the restroom.

It hadn’t gone away, and one morning when I looked in the mirror, I realized I needed to get it checked by a doctor.

In November 2024, Davina shared that doctors had diagnosed her with a colloid cyst, which is a rare, non-cancerous brain tumor.

Following a difficult six-hour surgery to remove a 14mm cyst in her brain, she happily announced that she no longer had cancer.
