After being removed from Britain’s Got Talent for making an inappropriate joke about an elderly person and crude sexual comments about a fellow contestant during a break in filming, the comedian’s career hasn’t fully bounced back, and his relationship with Simon Cowell remains strained.

Both the BBC and BritBox later announced they had removed Little Britain, explaining that societal standards have evolved since the show originally broadcast.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun, he didn’t make this decision easily, but ultimately feels it’s the right time to move forward.

David is stepping down after ten years, wanting to finish his time on a positive note and cherish the great experiences he’s had.

Over the past few days, David’s team has been discussing his upcoming departure. He’s preparing to leave his position, and producers are now beginning to consider potential replacements.

Despite apologizing, David still filed a lawsuit against Fremantle, the production company, claiming they misused his private information and violated data protection laws.

The company issued an apology, stating the issue is now settled. Reports suggest the comedian received approximately £5 million as part of the resolution.

David recently shared on television that he’s named his dog Eric, which is also the name of Simon Cowell’s 11-year-old son.

Simon also unfollowed David on social media back in October 2023.
