David Tennant’s “irresistible” crime thriller that drew Broadchurch comparisons gets new UK streamer
2020’s crime thriller starring David Tennant, often likened to Broadchurch, can now be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
The mystery drama series titled “Deadwater Fell,” previously shown on Channel 4, is now accessible on the streaming platform with every episode ready for viewing immediately.

In her review at the moment, Lucy Mangan from The Guardian referred to the series as an “unable-to-resist delight.” She also compared it to Broadchurch, but with a sprinkle of freckles.
According to the Evening Standard, the show employs the mysterious design of Broadchurch to induce mental bewilderment.
Back in 2019, Daisy Coulam, the writer and creator of the series, explained to Digital Spy: “The narrative you believe is unfolding at the end of episode one isn’t the story that becomes apparent in episode two, which, in turn, isn’t the story you anticipate when you reach episode three.
“Whatever you think the story is, it will confound you, compel you and surprise you,” she added.
It’s all about the secrets hidden within private spaces, judging others based on appearances while forgetting their imperfections, and the realization that we often don’t know our friends or the potential risks lurking behind closed doors.
In my gaming world, Deadwater Fell boasts an impressive cast including Cush Jumbo from The Good Fight, Matthew McNulty known for Cleaning Up, and Laurie Brett, a familiar face from EastEnders.
