What to Read Next

As a TV lover, it feels like there’s just *so* much to watch these days! I’ve put together a list of eight amazing shows that are premiering this week, and I wanted to share them with you.

The Hack

David Tennant leads the cast of The Hack, a new drama from ITV described as thrilling and impactful. The seven-episode series will explore the phone hacking scandal that led to the closure of the News of the World newspaper.

Written by Jack Thorne, known for his work on *Adolescence*, this series boasts a talented cast including Robert Carlyle, Toby Jones, Eve Myles, and Katherine Kelly.

You can watch “The Hack” on ITV1 starting Wednesday, September 24th at 9pm. It will also be available on ITVX before then.

Slow Horses, season 5

The clever and funny spy series returns with its usual sharp humor and dangerous situations. This time, the team of flawed MI5 agents, still bossed around by the unpleasant Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), faces a brand new, urgent problem.

In the trailer, Catherine Standish, played by Saskia Reeves, asks, “What are we going to do?” because she believes dangerous people are trying to destroy the country.

Now that Slough House is also on lockdown, it’s likely the team will start arguing amongst themselves before inevitably finding a way to bend the rules and escape to investigate. It promises to be quite a chaotic situation.

Slow Horses, season 5 will be available to watch on Wednesday 24 September on Apple TV+.

Sister Boniface Mysteries, series 4

Okay, fellow mystery lovers, get ready! *Sister Boniface Mysteries* is back with a new season this week, and I’m so excited! That means more of Sister Boniface (Lorna Watson) zooming around on her scooter and solving crimes – it’s seriously good stuff.

The new eight-episode series will bring eight fresh mysteries to the village of Great Slaughter in the Cotswolds. Sister Boniface will once again help Detective Inspector Sam Gillespie (Max Brown), DS Felix Livingstone (Jerry Iwu), and PC Peggy Button (Ami Metcalf) solve them.

The fourth series of Sister Boniface Mysteries starts on U&Drama at 9pm on Friday, September 26th.

House of Guinness

A new historical drama will soon offer viewers a glimpse into the lives of the Guinness family, adding some fictional elements to their true story.

The story of *House of Guinness* begins in 19th-century Dublin and New York, following the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, who is credited with building the Guinness brewery into the success it became.

When their father reveals his last will and testament, a series of dramatic events unfolds, deeply affecting his four grown children – Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben – and everyone connected to them. The series also features James Norton, who recently starred in the BBC’s historical drama, *King & Conqueror*.

House of Guinness will be available to watch from Thursday 25 September on Netflix.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, season 7

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is back for a seventh season! As Ru herself (or at least her Instagram) has announced, it’s time to get ready for more dazzling performances starting this week.

This season, twelve new queens will compete for the title of the UK’s next Drag Superstar. The contestants are Sally TM, Silllexa Diction, Catrin Feelings, Paige Three, Tayris Mongardi, Pasty, Nyongbella, Viola, Chai T Grande, Bonnie Ann Clyde, Bones, and Elle Vosque.

RuPaul will be joined by a fantastic lineup of guest judges this season, including Jamie-Lee O’Donnell from *Derry Girls*, Mutya Buena of the Sugababes, Nadine Coyle from Girls Aloud, and Susan Wokoma, known for her role in *Cheaters*.

The seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will premiere on Thursday, September 25th, and you can watch it on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.

Wayward

Netflix’s upcoming limited series, with Toni Collette and Mae Martin in the lead roles, is being described as a captivating and unique story that mixes different genres.

When police officer Alex Dempsey and his pregnant wife, Laura, move to the peaceful town of Tall Pines, they soon realize something is deeply wrong. The source of their unease seems to be Evelyn, a youth counsellor who isn’t as kind as she seems.

Wayward is available to watch from Thursday 25 September on Netflix.

The Savant

I’m really hooked on this new show! It’s about this undercover agent, they call her ‘The Savant’ – Jessica Chastain plays her – and she goes deep into online hate groups. Basically, she’s trying to stop dangerous people from actually *doing* something terrible. It’s super tense and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The streaming service calls the eight-episode show “captivating,” and the cast includes Nnamdi Asomugha, Cole Doman, Jordana Spiro, and Trinity Lee Shirley.

The Savant is available to watch from Friday 26 September on Apple TV+.

Alice in Borderland, season 3

I’ve been waiting *so* long for the new season of *Alice in Borderland*, and it’s finally here! It looks like things are going to be even tougher for Arisu and Usagi this time around, which I’m honestly both excited and terrified about!

Okay, so remember that couple who barely made it out of that crazy alternate Tokyo last season? Well, they’re back! And things are even worse this time around. They’ve been pulled right back into the games, and honestly, these new challenges seem way more brutal and dangerous. They’re fighting for their freedom all over again, and it’s terrifying to watch!

Okay, so things are really heating up! Our heroes have teamed up with some new faces, and they’ve all been pulled into this crazy place called the Joker stage. Apparently, it’s the only way back home. Honestly, it’s intense because the story already knows who’s going to make it and who isn’t – we’re just along for the ride to see it all unfold. I’m on the edge of my seat!

Alice in Borderland will be available to watch from Thursday 25 September on Netflix.

The new edition of Living Legends is here! Buy Gaga in newsagents or online, priced at just £8.99.
