David Tennant shares Good Omens return update following Neil Gaiman exit

David Tennant recently shared some news about the upcoming third season of “Good Omens,” which will conclude with a full-length final episode.

In a recent interview, the actor from “Doctor Who,” known for his role as demon Crowley in “Good Omens,” was questioned regarding the potential future of the series following allegations of sexual misconduct against the show’s creator, Neil Gaiman. Gaiman has since refuted these accusations.

On the ITV program “The Assembly“, Tennant engaged in conversation with a group of interviewers who are autistic, neurodiverse, or have learning differences.

One interviewee, Cameron, posed this question to the actor: “You’ve collaborated with someone who’s now facing severe accusations, and they were also a friend of yours. Has this situation had any impact on you?

Following Cameron’s explanation that the individual was involved with “Good Omens”, Tennant eased fans’ concerns, confirming that season three would indeed portray the tale of Crowley and Aziraphale as originally planned.

“We’re doing Good Omens again,” he said.

We’ll be returning for the concluding round. This time around, we’re preparing for the finale. There’s been a minor adjustment in the team composition.

He mentioned, “However, we can still share the tale – I believe it would have been quite challenging to end it as a cliffhanger. I’m relieved that has been resolved.

In this production, David Tennant acts alongside Michael Sheen as characters Angel Aziraphale and Crowley respectively, who serve as emissaries for both Heaven and Hell on our planet.

The show first aired in 2019, and another season came out in 2023. However, production stopped in September 2024 due to accusations made against Gaiman.

Next month, it became public knowledge that Gaiman had stepped away from production, and as a result, the third season was transformed into a 90-minute conclusion instead.

Good Omens seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Prime Video.
