Next week, the British film titled “What We Did On Our Holiday,” starring David Tennant and Ben Miller, will be departing from a UK streaming platform.
2014’s dark comedy-drama focuses on a family gathering to celebrate their matriarch’s 75th birthday, as she is battling terminal cancer and the news brings them together one last time.
The movie was penned and steered by the pair behind Outnumbered, Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin. Alongside them in the cast were Rosamund Pike, Celia Imrie, and Billy Connolly.
Currently, the film is available to stream on BBC iPlayer, but only until Monday (18 August).
As of now, you won’t find it offered through any other subscription plans; however, you can easily purchase or rent it elsewhere.

In our past review for Digital Spy, we stated that the film “Holiday” defies the saying ‘never judge a book by its cover’. Contrary to its trailer’s portrayal, Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin’s movie offers more intrigue and ambition than one would anticipate from the seemingly ordinary promos.
This comedy takes a well-worn plot twist and gives it a fresh spin, resulting in something truly valuable.
The movie exhibited dramatic shifts in mood, and it packed numerous concepts within its 95-minute duration. These aspects were both its greatest asset and its major drawback.
The film showed significant changes in its tone throughout, and it managed to fit many ideas into its 95-minute span. This duality proved to be both its biggest advantage and challenge.
Furthermore, even though some parts might seem a bit far-fetched, if you’re open to it and can appreciate the mix of humor and sorrow, this production could be an enjoyable use of your time.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, What We Did On Our Holiday has 59 reviews, and 75% of them are positive.
In a short while, the movie adaptation of “The Thursday Murder Club” will be released, and a fresh trailer offers an exciting peek at Tennant and the entire high-profile ensemble in their roles.
What We Did On Our Holiday is available for a few more days on BBC iPlayer.
The latest edition of Digital Spy’s printed magazine has arrived! Purchase the “Oasis – Live in ’25” issue from your local newsstand or online for only £8.99.
