David Schwimmer’s returning Disney+ series drops first-look trailer

As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things spooky and suspenseful, I must say that the latest trailer for Goosebumps: The Vanishing has sent chills down my spine! With David Schwimmer at the helm, this second season promises to be a rollercoaster ride filled with mystery, monsters, and mayhem.

The initial trailer for Goosebumps’ second season has been released, featuring Friends actor David Schwimmer as the main character.

The Disney+ series is based on the books by R.L. Stine, with each season presenting a fresh set of characters and a unique narrative plot.

In the second season, titled “The Vanishing“, we find ourselves delving into the story of twin siblings who decide to spend their summer break with their separated father. While they are there, they stumble upon a chilling enigma lurking within their surroundings.

Before the debut of the new season on January 10, 2025, the initial trailer reveals Schwimmer’s character delving into the mystery surrounding his brother’s death when they were kids. However, things take a turn for the unexpected as he confronts a terrifying creature.

As a gamer, I often encounter my share of eerie, spooky in-game characters, just like the younger generation does too. However, things took an unexpected turn for me when my character, Anthony (played by Schwimmer), started acting strange after unearthing some dark secret. The discovery was dastardly, and it’s clearly starting to affect him, making him behave erratically.

The story starts when twins Devin (Sam McCarthy) and Cece Brewer (Jayden Bartels) are sent to stay with their divorced father over the summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn. However, they soon discover that a danger is brewing, and as they uncover it, they find out that hidden secrets surround them, setting off a chain reaction that ultimately reveals a deep-seated mystery.

Devin, Cece along with their companions – Alex (Francesca Noel), CJ (Elijah M Cooper) and Frankie (Galilea La Salvia) – find themselves enmeshed in the gripping narrative of four teenagers who inexplicably disappeared back in 1994.

Alongside Ana Ortiz, Arjun Athalye, Eloise Payet, and Stony Blyden, the team behind the project consists of Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller who are responsible for creating the eight episodes in this new season.

In 2023, the initial series unfolded with Zack Morris, Justin Long, Miles McKenna, and Isa Briones in the lead roles. The storyline revolved around a band of modern-day high school students delving into an unsolved murder from the past.

Goosebumps: The Vanishing premieres on Disney+ on January 10.
