David Lynch, Visionary Filmmaker Behind Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive, Dies at 78
The renowned movie director, David Lynch, who was widely acclaimed for his distinctive, somber style seen in films like “Blue Velvet,” “Mulholland Drive,” and the television show “Twin Peaks,” passed away a few days prior to his 79th birthday.
I took to Facebook on Thursday to share the sad news – our beloved friend Lynch has passed away. While we’re still awaiting further details, it’s no secret that he bravely battled emphysema in public.
Currently, we’re asking for some solitude. A void has appeared since his departure, but he used to say, ‘Focus on the positive, like the donut, not the hole.’ Today is filled with radiant sunlight and clear, azure skies.
Once an artist, Lynch made a significant impact in the 1970s with the enigmatic “Eraserhead” and consistently amazed and motivated audiences and fellow creators for decades that followed. His most memorable works spanned from the gritty neo-noir style of “Mulholland Drive”, to the darkly twisted Gothic of “Blue Velvet”, to the unique and quirky “Twin Peaks”.
