David Harbour’s former partner, Alison Sudol, has recently discussed their breakup and her concerns about being perceived negatively as someone bitter about it.
The 40-year-old actress, famous for playing Queenie in the Fantastic Beasts movies, shared on Friday that she felt lost, confused, and emotionally distressed during the last few months of her relationship with her 50-year-old partner, David.
Alison is speaking out following the release of Lily Allen’s new album, which details the painful betrayals during her marriage to David. Alison and David dated for a year before he began his relationship with Lily, now 40, in 2020.
Alison and Lily have been publicly supportive of each other online since they shared their relationship story. On Tuesday, Alison shared a photo she’d originally wanted to include with her initial post, and explained her worries about facing criticism.
Alison shared that this was the photo she’d initially planned to post. She noticed something interesting happened when she tried to upload it – the platform seemed to flag it as potentially expressing anger, and she hesitated to post it because she’d just publicly called out an ex who had bullied her.

Honestly, it was a little scary realizing I was worried about being seen as that woman – you know, the one who dramatically changes her hair and is suddenly branded as someone who hates all men. It’s actually pretty funny now, digging up these ridiculous thoughts I had buried deep down, but I think it’s worth acknowledging them. It just popped into my head, and I wanted to get it out there.
It’s often the incredibly strange and unsettling stories that come up when we’re trying to be courageous that can hold us back – if we allow them to stay hidden and fester in our minds.
Honestly, my skin’s been a bit uneven lately, and a friend even gently pointed out I haven’t been wearing as much makeup this week. It’s a little reminder that self-care and covering up can both be important, depending on how my skin is feeling!
I thought I’d dealt with this issue, but it unexpectedly resurfaced, bringing up old feelings. Luckily, I just realized I don’t care about any of it anymore, so here’s my response!
Alison, who has been with actor Tom Cullen, 40, for a long time and shares two daughters with him, surprised fans last week when she posted about David.
She posted a picture of herself in bed and talked about the difficult time she went through in New York City in early 2019, which was when her relationship with the actor was ending.

Alison wrote that she took this photo in early June 2019 while living in New York City. She was in a nice apartment with large windows overlooking another building.
I’d picked out nearly everything for the place, but it still didn’t feel cozy or welcoming. I felt a vague sadness that would come and go.
She explained that she was nearing the end of a relationship, though she didn’t realize it at the time. She felt something was off and knew she wasn’t doing well, but she was deeply confused, caught up in a story that didn’t belong to her, and it was so overwhelming she couldn’t think clearly.
I was completely overwhelmed and couldn’t think clearly. I realized I couldn’t fix the situation, so instead of trying to change things around me, I focused on changing myself.

Alison shared that she’s been very selective about her relationships for the past six years, focusing on rebuilding her self-esteem after a deeply hurtful experience.
She explained that becoming a mother has changed her. She can’t relax the way she used to, and even trying to lie down can disrupt her sleep. Like all parents, she understands that protecting those few hours of sleep is a top priority.
The post received a lot of supportive responses, especially from Lily, who reacted with a red heart emoji.
