David Harbour says Avengers: Doomsday is the “biggest thing I’ve ever done”

I’m SO hyped for Avengers: Doomsday – it’s going to be HUGE, everyone knows it! And David Harbour just confirmed what we all suspected – this movie is going to be absolutely massive. Seriously, I can’t wait!

The actor is joining the Avengers series, returning as his character Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian, who previously appeared in Black Widow and Thunderbolts. It’s currently unclear how his character will be involved in the new story.

David Harbour hinted at the scale of his new superhero movie, telling Entertainment Tonight that it was even bigger than the final season of Stranger Things, which he previously thought was his largest project ever.

The actor hinted at Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he’ll play the villain Dr. Doom. He also shared praise for his Thunderbolts castmates, including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and Wyatt Russell.

Harbour expressed his enthusiasm for Robert Downey Jr.’s work, calling him incredibly talented. He also highlighted the compelling storyline and performances of Florence Pugh as Yelena and Alexei.

I’m really enjoying the developing relationships between my character and the Winter Soldier, played by Stan, as well as the new Captain America, Wyatt Russell. There’s a fun, playful dynamic – almost a friendly rivalry – between the three of us, and it’s been a lot of fun to explore that on screen.

I heard in an interview with ExtraTV that I’m heading to London soon to do some extra filming for the superhero movie. I joked that it’s just a ‘little’ bit of work, but it’s still good to get it done!

Besides the previously mentioned actors, Doomsday also stars Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Letitia Wright, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, and Tom Hiddleston, along with many other talented performers.

While the exact plot is still a secret, fans have received a few small clues through short teaser clips. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo described these clips as containing “stories and clues.”

In a later interview, the two explained that each trailer released provides story details and contributes to an overarching narrative. They suggested that, in effect, the events of Doomsday are already unfolding for the audience.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 18 December.
