David Harbour (Hopper) teases “very beautiful” Stranger Things 5 finale
As a gamer who’s been through countless virtual worlds and battles, I can only imagine the emotions that the cast and crew of Stranger Things are going through as they approach the final season. Having grown up with these characters since their debut, it feels like closing a chapter in my own life too.
We’ve been eagerly waiting over two years now since Stranger Things season 4 concluded, and we can’t help but feel even more excited and restless as we approach the release of the long-awaited fifth and final season. The extended wait only heightens the tension and excitement surrounding the grand finale. It promises to be an emotional journey for all involved, particularly the cast who have dedicated nearly a decade to this series.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, actor David Harbour reflected on his time working on the Netflix series, stating that reuniting with the original cast for the final season has been extraordinary since the show has evolved significantly from its first season. Over the past few years, he’s seen many of his co-stars mature from child actors to accomplished professionals in the industry. Harbour commented that this transformation has been a remarkable journey for everyone involved, as the young actors who started at 11 or 12 years old are now adults, no longer children.
As a devoted admirer, I can confidently say that you need not search any further than Millie Bobby Brown, whose stunning success in Tinseltown has been solidified by significant roles in Enola Holmes and the MonsterVerse films. And let’s not forget about Finn Wolfhard – this multitalented individual is turning heads not only with his on-screen performances but also as a budding director. To add to the excitement, David Harbour recently shared that Finn has directed a movie! Moreover, he hinted at some intense emotions that surfaced during the cast’s reading of the series finale – talk about intrigue!
We just did a read-through of the last episode and the amount of crying… Like the episode is very beautiful. But there’s also a deeper level of that… this was actually their childhood. They were 11 years old and grew up and fought this monster. And I’ve never seen so much heavy, heavy weeping from teenagers or young adults in my life.
It appears all the effort is bearing fruit. This final season has faced numerous hurdles due to the pandemic and labor disputes in the industry, which temporarily halted production. As Harbour stated, “This season was particularly difficult for several reasons. The most significant being Covid, because our industry relies heavily on close interactions.
It’s anticipated that production on “Stranger Things 5” will conclude around the end of this year. As of now, there isn’t a specific release date, but it looks likely that we might see it towards the end of 2025. The world of the Upside Down is gearing up for your return!
