David Geffen’s soon-to-be ex-husband is asking for increased financial support as their divorce becomes increasingly complicated.
The 82-year-old media executive is going through a public and contentious divorce from his 32-year-old ex-go-go dancer wife, after less than two years of marriage.
David Armstrong, who also goes by Michaels, stated in a court filing on Thursday that the $50,000 per month his billionaire former spouse is offering for support isn’t enough.
According to legal documents seen by the Daily Mail, he shockingly claimed that while they were together, Geffen spent around $3 million each month on living costs.
He claims Geffen is working to significantly reduce both his short-term and long-term financial support from the divorce.
Recently, Michaels disagreed with Geffen’s proposal to limit spousal support to just a few more months, and Geffen’s lawyers promptly fired back.

The Daily Mail reached out to representatives for Geffen and Michaels for a response, but they haven’t heard back yet.
Michaels also pointed out that Geffen is worth approximately $9 billion, according to Forbes.
He stated that Geffen told him he’s retired, but continues to work as an investor and influential figure, focusing on venture capital.
According to court documents filed by Michaels, Geffen allegedly took advantage of Donovan when he was a young and vulnerable person recently out of foster care, and then subjected him to physical, emotional, and psychological abuse.
Geffen replied to his boytoy ex’s filing via his legal team led by Laura Wasser.
Geffen claims he’s already given Michaels $400,000 since they split up and has continued to let him live in his New York City apartment without paying rent – a place that normally costs $15,000 a month.
Geffen stated he’s actively trying to finalize the divorce and end their marriage, claiming his ex-wife is intentionally slowing down the process.
They started dating around 2020 and got married in March 2023, but they didn’t create a prenuptial agreement.

Geffen first filed for divorce in May, stating that she and her husband, a former dancer, had differences that couldn’t be resolved, after being married for under two years.
Their separation date was listed as February 22, 2025.
In July, Michaels sued David Geffen, claiming he hadn’t provided the financial support he’d promised during their divorce.
Last month, Michaels filed to dismiss the lawsuit ‘without prejudice.’
Last month, Geffen was also accused of concealing his wealth to reduce the amount of alimony he pays to his former spouse.
Bryan Freedman, his lawyer, stated they plan to try and settle any money-related disagreements through mediation.
Financial disclosures filed on October 31st revealed that Michaels had only $7,518 in cash and savings.
He didn’t mention any financial help he claims to have gotten from Geffen either while they were married for nearly two years, or after they split up.
According to the financial statement, Michaels gets money from Geffen, but the total amount and exactly how it’s received aren’t clear.

The billionaire’s lawyers stated he’s made every effort to settle the matter of financial support for his spouse.
In a formal statement, Geffen explained that despite his ongoing support for Donovan and attempts to resolve the issue amicably, Donovan and his lawyers haven’t been cooperative.
According to his lawyers, David Geffen has given his ex-partner, Alex Michaels, at least $500,000 since they split up, and also contributed $50,000 towards Michaels’ legal costs.
Geffen stated he spent $198,450 to cover Michael Jackson’s stay at a high-end, private drug rehabilitation center, allowing Jackson to remain there for as long as needed.
Michaels had been receiving $25,000 per month since June of this year, Geffen declared.
