David Foster, 75, looks exhausted as he takes his much-younger wife Katharine McPhee, 41, to dinner

Music producer David Foster, 75, looked exhausted over the weekend as he failed to crack a smile.

The ex of Yolanda Hadid was seen exiting Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, California.

The Canadian composer, who’s also a musician, arranger, producer, and songwriter – and has collaborated with stars like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson – was wearing casual clothes.

He was walking down the street wearing a button-down shirt, a black satin Louis Vuitton bomber jacket, faded black jeans, and white Prada sneakers.

The silver fox, previously associated with model Christie Brinkley, was spotted with his wife, actress Katharine McPhee, who is 41 years old.

She wore a gray sweater tucked into black, belted jeans, paired with black pointy pumps. A Chanel purse hung from her shoulder, and she held her cell phone in her hand. Her hair was pulled back.

Foster and McPhee became engaged in June 2018.

The couple got married on June 28, 2019, at the St. Yeghiche Armenian Apostolic Church in London’s Kensington area.

She gave birth to a son on February 22, 2021.

Last year Foster said he loves performing with his wife.

Throughout December and January, the writer and producer traveled with his wife, McPhee, to California, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts for a series of scheduled commitments.

David admitted performing is a nice change from being in the studio alone.

He told Variety: ‘I am a workaholic and I move around a lot.

I’ve been following Kat and I on tour for the past four or five years, and it’s such a cozy, intimate show. They really open up and share their personal stories – how they met and what their lives are like. It’s wonderful to see!

I spent a long time in the studio creating music. The artists I worked with were able to perform and get reactions from audiences, but I mostly stayed behind and kept recording. It was really rewarding to finally join Kat on stage and perform these songs live.

David recently returned to music production to help Jennifer Hudson create her new Christmas album. He said it was a very enjoyable experience, explaining he hadn’t worked on an album in a decade and was initially hesitant to come out of retirement, but ultimately felt it was a fantastic project.

David shared that his career took a new direction after he stopped making records. He was even asked to compose the music for ‘Boop!’, a musical based on the classic Betty Boop cartoons from the 1930s.

He explained that he was eager to continue working and immediately agreed when producer Bill Haber approached him with an opportunity. He found the project appealing because Broadway allows for more artistic freedom – the goal isn’t necessarily to create a chart-topping song, but simply a well-crafted one.

I still believed I could write a great song. Just yesterday, I had a Zoom meeting and learned I need to write a new one—the details are still changing, though, as things often do.
