David Corenswet’s Heartwarming Superman Moment That Will Melt Your Heart!

David Corenswet certainly lives up to expectations with young super-fans.

To generate excitement for his upcoming DC film, the official Superman Instagram account shared a fresh behind-the-scenes clip of Corenswet interacting with child actors and background performers during breaks in filming. Entitled “A hero for everyone“, this video captures him slapping high fives, praising their acting skills, and then transitions to an impactful moment where Superman saves a young girl from collapsing debris.

The iconic scene of Superman saving a child was prominently shown in the initial movie trailer, which subsequently became one of the most popular trailers ever made. Coupled with the new trailer, it offered a sneak peek into Warner Bros.’ revamped DC Universe timeline, featuring Corenswet’s Superman alongside other mystical aspects of the DC Universe such as Krypto the Super-Dog, robots from the Fortress of Solitude, and colossal monsters.

David Corenswet Nails James Gunn’s 1 Major Condition for Superman Casting

In the role of Corenswet, whose past projects include “Pearl” and “Twisters”, his selection was based on the actor’s “treatment of everyone with kindness and respect,” embodying the compassionate essence of Superman that is as defining as his superpowers. As Gunn explained, “I’ve encountered sets that prioritize an actor or director’s ego, but that’s not the case with David.” He further added, “Corenswet embodies Superman, even in his quirks. He often listens to old jazz standards, just like a regular habit. Like Superman, he’s an ordinary man navigating complex times.

2025 is set to see the debut of Superman, following the success of last year’s animated series Creature Commandos. This DCU release, scheduled a month later, will feature Corenswet opposite Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, while Nicholas Hoult, known for his role as Beast in the Fox X-Men films, steps into the shoes of Lex Luthor. Supporting characters include Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi). Rumors suggest that Milly Alcock from House of the Dragon may make a cameo as Superman’s cousin Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. With projected opening weekend domestic box office earnings between $154M-$175 Million, this summer blockbuster is expected to be a huge hit.

Superman Will Land in Theaters in July

Next month, Gunn, Corenswet, and the rest of the cast are embarking on a global tour titled “Superman World Tour,” stopping at major cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Paris, and New York City before its debut. This will be the first standalone Superman film since 2013’s Man of Steel, and following its release, Marvel will introduce their characters once again on the big screen for the first time since 2015.

Superman releases in theaters on July 11.
