The man has given us six seasons of gripping, authentic portrayal of Navy SEALs through his role as Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes in SEAL Team. His commitment to the character and dedication to real-life military training is nothing short of extraordinary.
David Boreanaz has disclosed that he’s had four MRI scans over a period of four months, and the physical demands of filming SEAL Team have become too much for his body. As a result, he is preparing to conclude his role in the show during its seventh and last season.
Actor David Boreanaz, age 55 and known for portraying Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes in the Paramount+ military drama since 2017, explained that the demanding process of becoming an elite soldier took its toll, leading him to make the decision to step away from the series.
He communicated to everyone, “I’m physically unable to continue anymore!” and further explained that during their training process, there were no easy ways out for him and his fellow actors.
As a diligent director, I can’t forget the time when I had the challenging task of guiding a 250lb stunt performer on my back during filming. ‘With each step, I felt the ground shift as I inched ten feet into the scene, only to strike a hidden rock and twist my ankle painfully, causing me to crash down unexpectedly.’
‘My ankle is ballooning, but I had to keep going.
‘You learn from the SEALs how to push through pain — I’m talking guys who have had their arm blown off and are cracking jokes because that’s how they deal with it. It’s very intense.
Despite diligently taking care of myself, I’ve reached a stage where my body isn’t as agile as before, and it seems to be slowing down. Over the last four months, I’ve undergone no less than four MRIs, each for different areas like knees, hips, and shoulders. It’s been quite an experience.
He said real-life Navy SEALS have thanked him for the ‘real representation’ in the show.
