David Beckham shares fun throwback snap with close pal Guy Ritchie as he wishes the director a happy 56th birthday
As an ardent fan of both sports and cinema, I am absolutely thrilled by the camaraderie and collaboration between two of my favorites, David Beckham and Guy Ritchie. Their friendship spanning years is not just a testament to their shared interests but also a fascinating tapestry of experiences that has given us some unforgettable moments – from their lads’ trip to Iceland to the iconic King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
David Beckham wished his close pal Guy Ritchie a happy 56th birthday via social media on Tuesday.
In an amusing photo shared on Instagram by David, the ex-footballer (age 49) and the film director appeared excited in a nostalgic moment, celebrating a unique event.
During the outdoor excursion, David donned a striped shirt, grey pants, and boots, whereas Guy sported a green overcoat.
Guy and David have been friends for years and are co-owers of The Walmer Castle pub in Notting Hill which they purchased in a £3million deal.
Apart from that, they had earlier taken a guys’ trip to Iceland collectively, and David was featured in Guy’s movie, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, released in 2017.

This year, I was beyond thrilled to have a once-in-a-lifetime encounter when David and his amazing wife Victoria shared a night with me inside one of those jaw-dropping £50,000 BBQ tents – an experience that left me absolutely speechless!
In an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Guy mentioned that he and David have become quite close friends. They share similar social circles as their kids attend the same school, they frequent the same local watering hole, and exercise at the same fitness center. Over time, their shared activities naturally led to a strong friendship.
He added: ‘I love him, he’s on the same frequency as me and it made sense for him to be in the film [King Arthur: Legend of the Sword].’
After David received an Emmy award for his Netflix docuseries during a virtual ceremony in LA, the producers called him to congratulate him.
David and his spouse Victoria, aged 50, received nominations in an impressive total of five categories for the 2023 Netflix documentary titled “Beckham: The Force Behind David.
On a Saturday in Los Angeles at the Creative Arts Emmys event, the docuseries emerged victorious in the Documentary/Nonfiction Series category.
The award was received by producer Fisher Stevens, who made certain to contact the footballer during the festivities to share the good news about their achievement.

In an Instagram post from the Emmys, a gathering gathered around Fisher to make a video call and share the good news about his victory with David.
‘Alright David,’ the actor and producer shouted as he broke the news.
David exclaimed, “I can’t believe it!”, as the camera shifted to reveal the scene. In response, Fisher expressed, “Oh, we really do miss you, my friend.
David expressed his regret for not being able to attend, since he had previously agreed that he and Fisher would mark the occasion together within a few weeks.
‘Love to the family, congrats,’ Fisher added, before the footballer and producer said goodbye.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d say: “In this captivating series, I took you on an unparalleled exploration through the professional milestones of David and offered a rare peek into the inception of their romantic relationship leading to their marriage.
In 2024’s Emmy Awards, our four-part documentary series was nominated in the category of Best Documentary or Nonfiction Series. It will be competing against Quiet On Set: The Hidden Challenges of Children’s TV Production, STAX: Soulsville U.S.A., Telemarketers Uncovered, and The Jinx – Part 2.

The production was additionally recognized in several categories, including Outstanding Cinematography for a Documentary or Non-Fiction Program, Outstanding Direction for a Documentary or Non-Fiction Program, Outstanding Post-Production Editing, and Outstanding Musical Composition.
David responded with “What a delightful surprise! The entire creative team and I are truly honored that BECKHAM has been acknowledged by the Television Academy.
Creating this series was an incredibly intimate experience, a heartfelt tribute to football and my family. The outpouring of warmth and positivity we’ve received about the series has left us both humbled and grateful.
I’m deeply appreciative of Fisher Stevens’ remarkable team and everyone from my personal and professional journey who contributed significantly to my tale.
