David Beckham says ‘family mean a lot’ to him as he opens up about missing them while being apart – amid ongoing feud with son Brooklyn

David Beckham has shared his feelings about how much he misses his family when he’s traveling, especially given the current strained relationship with his son, Brooklyn.

Footballer David Beckham, 50, and his wife Victoria, 51, are reportedly having a disagreement with their oldest son, Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 30. This comes as Brooklyn has become more distant from the family, especially after missing all of his father’s 50th birthday events in May.

On Tuesday, David attended the Bowers & Wilkins launch event for their Px8 S2 in London.

He was joined on stage by record producer James Blake, and they discussed their work together on the product and its significance to both of them.

David shared that he’s been a fan of the brand for a long time, recalling a photo of himself wearing their headphones back when he lived in Los Angeles in the late 2000s.

When talking about travel, the retired footballer shared his feelings about being away from his family, saying they ‘are very important to him’.

He shared with Daily Mail and other news outlets: ‘I have a strong bond with my family, and they’ve become accustomed to my frequent travels over time.

‘You know, the boys obviously have been around, you know, most of my career, so, you know.

People have noticed I travel frequently, and both Victoria and Harper have seen it too, especially more recently. With all the traveling I do, it’s naturally difficult, and I really miss my dogs a lot.

‘But they’re part of the family, so yeah, that’s really all I miss.’

When asked where he spends most of his time travelling, he said it’s now between London and Miami.

He went on to say, ‘You know, travel, I’ve really been fortunate throughout my career and life – both during and after my career, and in business – because it’s given me the opportunity to travel.’

You know, my first trip with Manchester United was to South Africa, and I was just 17 years old at the time.

‘And I travelled so much with football.

After I completed that project, I gained the ability to travel and experience cities and countries in a new light. I could really immerse myself in different cultures, and honestly, that’s one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

I really love to travel because it allows me to connect with all sorts of people and experience many different cultures. That’s definitely one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

David’s remarks follow reports that the Beckhams are reportedly not speaking to Brooklyn and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz.

The couple recently renewed their vows without inviting them.

The last time Brooklyn and his family were seen together was on Boxing Day of the previous year. There’s no evidence he’s been with them since then.

The 26-year-old didn’t participate in family celebrations again this month, notably missing the chance to share in the many birthday wishes for his brother Romeo, who turned 23. He continued a pattern of ignoring important family moments.

During a conversation with the Daily Mail, Brooklyn shared how he manages the constant discussion surrounding his family and personal life.

He acknowledged that there will always be critics, but emphasized his gratitude for his very supportive wife. ‘My wife and I focus on what we do, stay focused on our work, and we’re happy,’ he explained.

The 26-year-old said he ‘never’ worries about what people say or write about his personal life.

You’re bound to hear negativity from people, but I just focus on enjoying myself – playing golf with friends is a great way to do that,” he explained. It’s really enjoyable, that’s all.

Also at the event on Tuesday, David shared that the headphones allow him to ‘block out the noise’ and focus.

He said: ‘The whole noise cancellation thing is for me, it’s the dream.

You probably notice when I’m traveling – whether I’m on a plane or anywhere else – I like to tune everything out and either listen to music or watch a show.

‘It’s incredible. ‘

He went on to say, ‘Collaborating with Bowers & Wilkins has always been a particularly meaningful experience for me, and I truly mean that – it’s not just something I’m saying for tonight’s event. It really is special.’

‘You know, when I decide to become a partner in a business, it’s all about people.

It’s not really about the company itself, but the people I’m partnering with. It genuinely feels like I’m working with family.

Commenting on the release, Giles Pocock, VP of Brand Marketing, stated: ‘We are incredibly proud to launch the Px8 S2, the best headphone we have ever created.

When we launched the Px8 in 2022, it set a new standard for how well wireless headphones could perform.

The Px8 S2 redefines excellence, raising the bar for sound quality, design, and how well it’s made. It’s a new standard for what you can expect.

This is the perfect way we show what we’re all about: getting listeners more connected to the artist’s work. And naturally, the stunning look and quality give owners a genuine sense of pride.
