David Bailey’s son Sascha reveals his baby’s gender and unusual name as he confirms what he’d tell his unborn child about trans ideology after he nearly transitioned to be a woman
Photographer David Bailey’s son Sascha has revealed he and girlfriend are expecting a baby boy.
The baby’s gender reveal comes just three years after Sascha considered transitioning into a woman.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as follows: In my personal experience, a 30-year-old individual, born into the world of high-profile photography with parents like David Bailey and his ex-spouse Catherine (both prominent figures in the modeling industry), grappled deeply with feelings of depression during his marriage. These emotions led him to question his identity, suspecting he might be experiencing gender dysphoria. To the point where he contemplated a life-altering decision – undergoing surgery to transition into female identity.
Currently, Sascha is looking forward to the arrival of his first child with Lucy Brown (once an assistant to political activist Tommy Robinson) in August. He expressed relief, stating that he has now moved past the toughest periods in his life.
He told TopMob: ‘We’re having a boy. We’re calling him Wolfgang Robert Bailey.
Originally, my father had nixed the idea of me bearing the name Wolfgang, a moniker I’ve long cherished. Yet, my desire for it remains unquenched. Thus, in a way to honor this deep-seated yearning, I’m choosing to bestow it upon someone else. Also, Robert is related to Lucy’s late uncle.

I can hardly contain my excitement as I share this incredible news with you all! After a rollercoaster ride of three eventful years, the long-awaited chapter of my life has finally reached its closing act – my divorce from Mimi Nishikawa is officially drawing to a close. This momentous milestone tastes even more sweet due to the journey I’ve traversed to reach it.
He stated that, although it’s been quite challenging, the divorce process is nearing its end and should be completed next month. This signifies a fresh start for him, one that he has not felt this excited about in a long time.
At present, Sascha and Lucy, both aged 34, are residing with Sascha’s parents in London. However, they have recently discovered a new apartment that they plan to relocate to within the coming weeks.
Yet, at present, marriage is not imminent. “I’m still grappling with the aftermath of the previous one,” Sascha confessed. “With Lucy, however, I foresee it in our destiny. This time, I wish for a more deliberate approach.
As a seasoned lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share an inspiring transformation story. Once upon a time, a celebrated figure who transitioned from modeling to curating art found himself grappling with an unprecedented mental health struggle in 2021. The weight of his fame and the pressures of life almost led him to take a step back from it all.
In his conversation with the Mail previously, he expressed feeling completely disoriented and contemplating life’s purpose. He found solace in the belief that he might be transgender, indicating a sense of living an incorrect life in the wrong physical form. This belief seemed to him as the only viable escape route.
Initially, Sascha delved into the topic of gender transition on the internet, where they swiftly discovered a supportive yet echoing environment within chat rooms and discussion forums.
He recollected that there was an overwhelming push for him to ‘simply take action’. He then visited a private physician who, after spending only ten minutes with him, identified him as transgender and prescribed female hormones – a quick and straightforward process for him.

He said he was days away from booking gender reassignment surgery when something shifted.
He paused for a moment, then realized something wasn’t adding up. This was more than discomfort; it was distress. What I truly require isn’t a replacement body, but an explanation for the agony I feel, he explained.
He attributes his return to self-discovery to his bluntly honest father, as well as Lucy, whom he encountered not long after ending his marriage.
He said: ‘Lucy saved my life. She helped me feel grounded again. Like I wasn’t broken.’
Currently, Sascha is gearing up for parenthood, and he’s ready to handle any situation if their future child someday decides to discuss gender dysphoria with him.
Sascha contemplated strongly, it’s clear,” he said. “No tattoos for you. No changing genders either. That’s just the straightforward truth.
If you provide someone with a small measure of decision-making power or autonomy, they are likely to be drawn to it and seek more opportunities to exercise this control.
Given the vulnerability of children, it falls upon us to provide guidance and ensure they avoid harmful choices in life.
If you grant them this single opportunity, many of them might seize it primarily for the sense of control it offers.
After moving past that difficult phase, Sascha is now openly critical of the hastily implemented methods regarding gender transition, particularly in regards to youth, referring to them as such.
He’s shared his transitional experience publicly, and ever since then, he’s been approached by numerous individuals who have detransitioned. Many of them express regret about their decision, but unfortunately, their voices are often dismissed as a nuisance within the system.
His upcoming memoir, titled “Aim for the Swimming Pool,” delves profoundly into his struggles with mental health, marital issues, interrupted gender transition, and his path to self-discovery, set to be published next month.
Sascha added: ‘The book is a way for me to close that terrible saga of my life.’
Currently, Sascha is preoccupied with the upcoming birth of baby Wolfgang and establishing a new life with Lucy, whom even critical Bailey Snr. approves of.
