Arquette expressed his affection for portraying Dewey, stating he’ll never tire of doing so. He added that whenever the chance arises, he’d take it, but unfortunately, this detail was leaked and spoiled the surprise. So, he felt a bit disappointed when he found out.
Additionally, even though they were killed in the first and third movies, characters Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard) and Roman Bridger (Scott Foley) will return as well.
Inquired about the possible looks of the characters in the forthcoming movie, Arquette chose to keep silent, replying: “I’m not supposed to discuss it extensively.
Speaking about the director of Scream 7, Kevin Williamson – who penned the scripts for Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4 – Arquette expressed his excitement at the prospect of collaborating with him once more.
Working with Kevin Williamson as a director was simply fantastic, Arquette shared. Honestly, he’s an extraordinary individual who commands my deepest admiration.
In the 1996 movie “Scream,” Arquette debuted as Officer Dewey, who was presented as the elder sibling of Tatum Riley, portrayed by Rose McGowan.
In the movie Scream 5, which was released in 2022, Dewey met an unexpected and startling demise at the hands of Amber Freeman, portrayed by Mikey Madison. She teamed up with Jack Quaid’s character Richie to become the Ghostface duo in that film.
Scream 7 will be released in cinemas on 27 February 2026.
